we're not doing a videographer. honestly... i'd watch it MAYBE once a year... on our anniversary... and thats a BIG maybe.for us... the photos were more important.
What we are actually going to consider doing is setting up go-pro cameras around the room as well... and we can set them to record OR take random pictures.
But... we'd rather take the money for a videographer ... and use it towards our honeymoon. or house.

I am doing it because I am afraid if I don't I may regret it & once the wedding is over there is no going back. In the whole grand scheme and cost of the wedding it isn't a lot. I don't plan to spend a lot but I will do it.

We weren't going to get one but fell in love with AJ Ingoglia. It is worth it to us because I know I want my kids and their kids seeing the video. If you don't want to spend the extra money, consider taking the loss of the deposit!

My friend just told me I just HAD to get one. She said you're so busy all day that there are things you'll miss and the video is a great re-capper, But I'd like to have video of it for our kids someday!

This to the 9th degree!! We actually spent a lot on our photography because originally we weren't planning on a videographer but we have decided to book one. It is absolutely something I would regret since everyone tells me you are in such a haze all day and it goes so quick you'll never remember it all. Will we watch it a lot? No, but at least I have it if I want to.

Agreed! I just didn't think video was worth the money. I'd rather take the trip of a lifetime afterwards :)

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I love the idea of the cinematic video.. but at the same time... everyone has one and I KNOW FH and I will NEVER watch it. I want a fabulously amazing honeymoon in Italy!!
I think if you WANT it... and can AFFORD it... go for it. But... if you're on the fence about it... and think it would break the bank... move along or wait closer to the date!

video regret
FH and I were on the fence about it but then one of our friends told us that shortly after his wedding his new wife's grandmother passed away and it was really nice to have the video of her having fun at the wedding. Neither of our grandmothers are in good health right now, and God-willing, we are hoping they'll both make it to the wedding. I would really like to have those memories cherished not just through photographs but also through a video. The more we thought about it, the more we realized how much we wanted it.If its not in the budget don't overextend yourself, but there are plenty of budget companies that do videos that are very affordable. HTH!

This is pretty much the exact reason we're doing video. I know if I watch it 5 times in my life that would be a lot, but just knowing that you have those memories captured is something that I really want.
I LOVE the idea of cinematic video, but like I said, I just want the memories, so I didn't break the bank on it. I'm getting a basic edited video with a recap at the end through my photographer.

video regret
I am definitely doing a video because I love home movies. Even when I was little I would sit and watch home videos and my recital tapes more than I would watch regular TV. Now that I am older, they mean so much more. Video captures voices, mannerisms, honest moments, true smiles, and takes you back in time. There was no way I wasn't having a videographer (p.s. I haven't booked one yet!)My sister was married in 09 and she watches her video frequently. Every anniversary her and her husband watch it and she says when they are hitting a rough patch, she will watch a few minutes of it and remember how happy they were that day. Also as some of the girls mentioned, there are many loved ones who have since passed that left lasting memories on the video. My grandpa left the most hysterical and typical of him message at the end and we laugh ourselves to tears everytime. That to me is priceless. That being said, there is a right price to pay for it. I haven't booked yet because I refuse to overpay.
