I just got quotes from the photographer & DJ I will likely book. Combined I am looking at close to 5 grand.
Are you all having videographers? Any recommendations? I was just thinking maybe I could forgo a videographer but I know that would be something I will end up regretting.

Thats what we are paying alos for photo/video. I think that a video is important because there are going to be parts of the wedding that you are going to miss and when you get the video you will be able to see those things. I think you might regret it if you dont get it.

I agree. At first I wasnt going to get a videographer either but the more I thought about it the more I thought I'd eventually miss it!

thats actually good compared to my quotes (around 8k for both).... i would get it, if you regret it theres nothing you can do about it... besides, its your wedding!!!!!!! that extra 3000 or whatever isnt going to break the bank, if there were more ways of recording memories of that day i would do it lol

My sister didnt get one because she felt the same way and she doesnt regret not having it. I know I will watch it more than once. My friend got married in '06 and I still love watching her video! I think I've seen it atleast 5 times!

FH and I said we weren't going to do a video... but I am starting to regret that. I am thinking that I want one. But we have to check the funds closer to the wedding day.

I am getting video through my photographer, and we got a very fair price on it. FH wanted just raw footage so he can play around and make his own video, but we were able to get a good enough deal that we'll also be getting an edited DVD. I just want the memories, I know I would regret not having it.

Re: Videographer A Must? ...
I am not doing a videographer. The only aspect of the wedding that I'd like to see again is the ceremony and I am fine with just viewing the videos that family and friends are planning to take. Besides, anyone I know that has had the videography done at their wedding has either watched the video once or not at all. Just seems like a waste to me, JMO.

Re: Videographer A Must? ...
Having a videographer is not an option for me, the memories of that day are so important to me and being able to watch it over and over again, plus I'm sure there will be things that I will miss on my own.

Thank you All.
Knowing myself I would watch the vid 100 times. I am just going to try to find a reasonable quality person.

We're not having one, but I'm going to spread the word that people can bring their own camcorders. . .so long as they don't post embarassing moments on YouTube.

Re: Videographer A Must? ...
I wanted to do one...especially after seeing girls who used Pennylane!!! But it is just so expensive and everyone that is married and did do a video honestly told me they watched it once, so I decided not to go with one.

As much fun watching the video will be i just cant see spending 2000+ on a video that i will probally watch one or two times....
My plan is to have one of my cousins or someone to record the ceremony n parts of the Rh and then i will edit it and add music.. .Its something and its free... :)
