We met with a videographer who said it would take 8-9 months to get the final video. Is that standard? The trailer will be ready 2-3 weeks after the wedding.

Videographer - final product
ours is the same amount of time bc of all the editing.

That's pretty standard. I feel like I'd rather wait longer and have an AMAZING product, than to have the person rush through editing and do a lesser job. Just my perspective :)

I forget how long exactly, but i was told it would be a long time. I'm okay with it because the final product will be worth it!

FH and I were a bit disappointed when we heard that too, but we look at it this way: we have longer to save up to pay it off!! (Hopefully your videographer doesn't expect final payment until the video is delivered.)

Oooh... We had a $500 deposit and the remainder is split: 50% due on the wedding date, 50% upon delivery of the final video.

Re: Videographer - final product
This is our deal too ($500 dep then 50% on wedding day and 50% when final product is ready). I'd be weary of someone wanting all the money up front.
