THAT is a very hard decision. I think it depends on how religious you are. I would say the Ceremony because that is what your marriage is about.

Re: vidopgraphy
My husband, Gregory owns a film company called Pip Productions. He is new to the wedding industry (not to filming and editing). His introductory prices range from 3-500 for raw video to 1500 for multiple copies of a highly crafted and edited 'movie' of your day. His style is natural, artistic and unobtrusive. If you want someone with lots of lights and microphones he's not your guy. He won't be interviewing your guests nor will he be asking you and your family to 'act' for any reason. He is a true artist who is keenly sensitivite and astutely aware. Plus, he's honestly one of the nicest human beings you can meet (not just saying that either ) He may or may not bring an assistant, depending upon your wants and needs. If he did, it wouldn't change the price points outlined above. If you are interested in meeting with him, please let me know and I'll set you up with an appointment. Or, you can give me your wedding day details and I'll price out an estimate for you. Thanks and happy planning....
PS: You can and should video both parts of your day. You just need to find the right person who will work within your budget.

Re: vidopgraphy
I think it might be easier for a relative or friend to record the ceremony than the reception since the 'action' is taking place in one area. So, you may want to hire a pro to record the reception which has more 'action' happening all over the place.

I suggest trying to find someone who can video both parts of your day within your budget... they're out there I'm sure. It is sooo worth it.
