Anyone having a Vienese Hour? Is it worth the $$ because I am doing it. I don't know if it is a waste.

A lot of halls set the V hour up in a different room. For our V hour I didn't want it on the dancefloor because ppl. are still going to want to dance. At Floral Terrace they set up the V hour in the foyer area outside the ballroom. It doens't interrupt anyone who wants to continue dancing.

depends on what they are going to put out, my hall was not putting out anything special but i went to a wedding once and it was great and well worth it

I am doing a mini and it was only $5.00 more.. plus, on a Sunday night, my wedding already ends at midnight, I am not going to keep people there til 1am so that they can eat really fattening food and then go to sleep!! lol

We had to get it because it's a staple in every wedding in my family - but I'm happy we got it because my hall really outdoes itself - snowcone machine, 2 chocolate fountains, zeppole, doughnut machine, crepes, waffles, etc, etc, etc....I can't wait, right Nina??

I had no idea what a vienese hour was until I read Nina's description. Wow!

I'm already worried that there is going to be too much food, but it sure sounds like fun. Our hall threw in an ice cream sundae bar and I thought it was going to be too much!

We are doing it but we are huge fans of the dessert hours at weddings and us and our families are dessert people -- we are even renting a chocolate fountain to be added to it...

We are not doing it, its way too much food. We are having platters of pasteries and fruit on the table. The only thing I might add is the choclate fountain. Besides I've seen it where it takes up the dance floor and I want to dance for that hour since I'm paying the DJ to play!!

To each it's own, but we are not having one. I would rather everyone be dancing and having a good time then eating more food. I am going to add the chocolate fountain when the cake is served. I think that is a nice touch and can be fun

We are having a mini or a touch of it. I didn't want too much and I was afraid of the tables they would need to set up on or near the dance floor (our family and friends like to drink). Each guests table will have an assortment of cookies, candy and pastries.

I am having a Vienesse hour .....with cakes...ice cream station.......as well as a chocolate fountain and the other stuff........for me it was a must......I love my sweets more than the food! I will save my room for the ice cream bar. To this day i still have to have chocolate ice cream everynight before bed. My parents got me started on that when I was little....not the best habit....but now its def. fat free ice cream.

We decided to have cigar rollers instead, why are you doubting it? We would have it, but we're having alot of other desserts served individually, so for us it would have been a waste. That is my fav part of a wedding though
