Vienese Hour......

Vienese Hour......

Well, I was really upset initially that we couldn't afford the Vienese hour at CLM. But I have to say, after my friend's wedding this weekend I am so glad that we are not doing it.

Her wedding was 7-8 CH, 8-12 reception, 12-1 VH. Well, by 12:20, half the people left!!! Guests literally got their extra desserts, ate them and said good bye. And this was a party bunch too. I mean the dance floor was packed all night long. So basically my friend payed for VH and payed the DJ 1 hr overtime for people to leave after 20 mintues.

Don't get me wrong.......the desserts were delicious!!! It was an elegant touch, but if you're on the fence about it consider the above. I know I have and FH and I are glad we're not doing it now.

JMO that I wanted to share. But if you are doing it, more power to ya!!! This was JMO!

I am actually doing a VH, but I am going to have the Band announce right after the cake that a VH will be set-up, so hopefully people will stay. But we can't resisit, we wanted one so badly.

i'm doing the vienese hour too. actually, i picked a sunday night before columbus day next year so that i could have it. we're beginning the cocktail a half hour early and extending the party. this way the entire thing doesn't go so late.

i have to agree with you though. my friend had it at her wedding and it came out too late and after they brought it out everyone started leaving. i got to taste one thing ithink.

Oh we're date twins!!!! We had the same concept. We're paying Sunday night rates with the majority of our friends/family having the next day off!!!

You know I really think that that is what it was. Honestly, if it had started at even 11:30 it probably wouldn't have been so bad. But at midnite to turn around to everyone and say, 'OK, we're going for another hour' it was too much too late!

I've seen this happen at weddings too, particularly on Sunday night. That was part of the reason why we went with a Saturday night affair. The VH in our families is a must..I'm a sucker for desserts too
