Viennese hour

Hey ladies I'm just curious to who's doing a Viennese hour and who's not. I can't decide if I should do one or not.

Viennese hour - Long Island Weddings

We decided to do it. My dad has a soft spot for pastries, so that didn't hurt, but we really wanted it because it adds another hour onto the wedding. Our venue says they always take the Viennese tables out before the end of the hour anyway so that the night ends with more dancing, so I think it adds to it more than takes away.

We have one but only bc our RH included it in our package. I wouldn't have gotten one otherwise.

I might add pastry plates for the tables but.. I am doing cupcakes as cake/favor since most people wont even eat the cake that night..The vienesse hour really isnt us.

We aren't. I feel like most of the time, the food goes to waste during the hour. There's always SO much left over. In our contract, though, we do get a separate dessert along with the cake.

Larkfield gives us the cake, 3 tier dessert tray, zeppoli bar, and cannoli bar. I think Viannese would be WAY too much!

You know, I was upset that we arent having one, and I was thinking about upgrading, but your question made me think about the wedding I just attended last weekend and I didnt even notice that they didnt have one.

Viennese hour - Long Island Weddings

We felt like there was soo much food to be offered that no one would really eat more on top of the cake & desert offered. We felt we should use the money elsewhere. I have been to a few weddings with one & have only been able to eat a couple of small things bc I was just soo full!

There is going to be so much food at our wedding to begin with I really don't think it's necessary.

I did it and it was amazing! People absolutely loved it. I also provided take home boxes (chinese food containers) so they could take stuff home and have it for the hotel late night, or the next day.

My cousin said to my dad during it 'It's like they've never seen pastry before!' LOL

Viennese hour - Long Island Weddings

I opted out. Just from previous experiences I always found it to be a bummer when the dancing had to stop and they put all the tables out. At the same time, I've been to weddings where the dancing didn't stop bc the tables were in a completely different room. I would like that option better. But, I still never fully enjoyed it because I was just so stuffed!! I say go for it if you want it though! Who can truly complain about extra desserts!!?
