Villa Lombardi

hi ladies!

I started my venue vists this weekend! saw 1 friday night and then 4 Saturday! yes 4! I have to say i fell in love with Villa Lombardi-just unfortunately they're out of my budget. Only date I can get that is in my range wasn't until december and FH & I didn't want to have a winter wedding-Ahhh...i'll keep looking :)

I do have some saturday night quotes for Villa Lombardi; Milleridge Inn, Marriot Melville & Verdi's of Westbury if anyone is interested.

Re: Villa Lombardi

Thank you-

I've just started looking-already rec'd a lot of help from the ladies on the board and some great suggestions! My budget per person is between$75-85pp (b4 tax & tip). And what makes things even harder is that we're doing a Saturday evening-don't know if that's possible. BUT I did call the swan club and they're pretty reasonable-FH & I are going Tuesday to meet with the banquet manager.

Re: Villa Lombardi

I know you may not want to do this..but I too was in love with Villa Lombardi's & there was no way in hell we could do a fri or sat night in June like we wanted...So we picked Thursday actually..& it's really woking out well for us. Alot of the vendors are giving us discounts because of the day. Apparantly Thursday night weddings are becoming more popular we are being told..I am able to have my dream wedding & not just settle for a different time of year or place...& yes I've gotten the nasty comments..'what about your guests??'..but the truth is everyone knows our story. We don't come from money & everyone is just so happy for us & whoever wants to be there for us will be ;) ... just an idea.

Re: Villa Lombardi

Thanks for the suggestion! And CONGRATS!! Villa Lombardi's was absolutely beautiful!

Well I did compromise-I had my heart set on a Saturday evening; but we're gonna start looking at Saturday Afternoons and do a smaller afterparty in the evening.

Already I've seen better prices just moving the wedding to the daytime! PLus I'm not getting married until November and at least with a daytime wedding I get to take my pictures during the day now!

Re: Villa Lombardi

I'm looking at September of 11, and we are possibly going to have it on a Friday because it's cheaper and we both decided we didn't want to do a day wedding. We're pretty much set on having it at an RH on the water, we looked at the Thatched Cottage in Centerport and looooved it, not too bad for Friday which is $105 pp, the Sat was $125pp, which we would prefer if we know we can afford it.

Otherwise we went to The Venetian, didn't love it. So that's crossed off and this week we're going to the Huntington Harbor Club and it looks gorgeous. Has anyone gone to a wedding there or anyone planning one there?

Re: Villa Lombardi

Hey! Sorry to crash! I just got married at Villa Lombardi's on Sunday and it was beyond amazing!! We had a budget and because I fell in love with Villa we decided to have a Sunday afternoon wedding which was half the price of a sat. night there. If you get married there, I promise you will not be disappointed! Good luck!

Re: Villa Lombardi

Also crashing...I'm getting married at VIlla in December this year for the same reasons...I loved the place, I loved the food, but we couldn't afford or meet the minimums for November or October, which were our first choice months. For me, I was personally willing to move up a few weeks, our ideal date was 11/7, but I was flexible about a month in either direction. Villa is gorgeous in the holiday season, a beautiful tree and decorations all over, but not overdone, still very elegant. Something to consider, believe me as someone who knows, I know I'm going to have a gorgeous wedding with amazing food, and it'll be a few degrees colder out, but worth it to me!

Re: Villa Lombardi

I just booked at Villa Lombardi's in 2010. I didn't want to do a winter wedding, and was very insistent that we didn't do it in the winter, however, it is much cheaper...you're only going to be outside for a little bit anyway...As some of the others have said, Fri and Sat are the most popular days. Try a different night of the week. Earlier times on Fri/Sat/Sun will be cheaper than evening weddings. We decided on the winter wedding...just because we know the reputation is awesome there and we love the food as well. Go to the bridal showcase in September.... see if they can work something out with you!

Re: Villa Lombardi

Not sure if you want to look in Queens but Douglaston Manor quotes us 85++ for the Sunday evening before Labor Day..though we didn't book there it was beautiful. Also try Westbury Manor

I think they have packages now as well
