No, but that is a bad sign that they wouldn't let you look around....The prices are high...Try EastWind....In November it's 55 per person.....

That is a bad sign!
The prices are high and I found them to be pretty non-flexible...we were booked and cancelled them a long, long time ago.
You should FM akaMrsT she has lists of prices for a lot of halls.
Good luck in your search!

what?? why wouldn't they let you look? IMO, that's a huge turn off.
you are a potential customer. they should treat you as such!

I am booked at their other location and they still won't let me look around without an appointment! They are definitely not the most hospitable staff, but let me tell you....they do a FABULOUS wedding. My brother got married at Villa last year and people still talk about how amazing the food and everything was.

We went and they let us look around. We spoke to Charles and he was great! Their menu is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They were on our top five list. I think he quoted us 79 per person, plus tax & grad for a July 4th wedding. Good luck.

Wow....I do admit that is a turn off.
When I went to check out Villa's, I didn't have an appointment. They were very nice. Yes I had to wait for a BM to show me around but it was only a 15 min wait. I did not complain because I didn't have an appt and the lobby alone was gorgeous. Villa's was not even on my list of halls to check that is why I didn't make an appt but that day I booked on the spot. As soon as the BM showed me the cocktail hr room. I was in Love. Everything else got better and better!
Sorry you had such a bad experience. I'm not sure of their prices for Nov. They may be pricey but I feel they are totally worth it. Food and service alone. I sound like I'm selling them. I just LOVE Villa's!

Re: villa lombardis
I went to Villa's three times (from booking it to now) the last time I just called ahead and told them that I was going to walk the grounds. They didn't care, but said I should make an appointment with a BM if I wanted to walk around the inside. Of course I went inside after we walked the grounds. We used the bathrooms and everyone was there, no one said a word. They are clean freaks though, and always painting and doing maintance. This is probably why they don't want you walking around by yourselves. The first and second time we walked around, our BM told us of many wet spots to stay away from. Anyway, sorry you were insulted. They're just doing their job.
Oh, I didn't think they were pricey at all. I went looking at six different halls, and only one was less expensive.
I think for a Friday they quoted us at $89. Of course you don't 'pay' that price. They will go down and take off pp. They will also throw you some extras if you go in knowing what you want.
Good Luck!

I tried looking at chateau la mer once without an appointment and they wouldn't let me either. I didn't think it was a big deal.
Anyways, Villa's was very negotiable with me -- their prices are not set in stone. They took 15 bucks off per person for me.

Thats odd, cause when we went to see them we looked around. There prices are reasonable. Go back there and ask for Charles. He's the head banquet manager. Tell him that they wouldn't let you look around.
