Villa Lombardis

Hi, I went to a wedding there last night and last month both times i ate the same thing The Salmon and both times I got violently ill...the first time i thought maybe it could have been from drinking but i knew i didnt drink that much that night but still i was throwing up all night, this time i really didnt drink at all, i mean i had literally one glass of wine, and i ate the salmon for dinner again and once again when we got home i became so sick, i just think that is too much of a coincidence, my FH thinks maybe they dont store there fish properly, anyway jsut a warning about the salmon,,

awww im so sorry.

If you only had one glass of wine, then it was probably the fish.

I'm really sorry to hear that. Since it was the same dish, at the same place, do you think that you may be allergic to something in it? If there was a sauce of some kind on the fish then there may be an ingredient that you're allergic to.

Wow that is scarey! Did anyone else that you know have the salmon? You definitely should call Lombardi's and alert them!

As someone else suggested, you could be allergic, but I don't know if that is a typical allergic reaction?

That's the same type of reaction that I get when I eat oysters. That why I thought I would mention it. You should find out what they used in the dish.

sometimes your body has a reaction to white wine and eating fish together. maybe there was some shellfish in it, b/c i know this happened to me. last month i had a lot of raw bar and i had so much champagne and i got violently ill right after. i then asked around and this can happen with white wine and seafood.

also, before saying that there is something wrong with a place and their food, you should ask other people at the wedding if they got sick from the same dish. you could make some brides that are having their wedding at that place very nervous.

Thanks for the heads up!!!! I'm actually attending a wedding there in a few weeks and now I know I'll probably stick with the chicken

JMO, but i highly doubt that it is the way they handle their food----they are extremely professional and take great pride in their food --that is one of their biggest selling points..(ie. mama lombardis, LOthe sound, and their meat market!)....if they get a slight crack in one of the tiles in the entry hall, they have it replaced immediately----so if they take great care in their floor, you know they are taking great care in their food!!!

anyway, find out if any others got sick too from eating the salmon----but i think it was an allergic reaction which stinks (especially feeling like crap!)
so anyone going to villas, i say don't avoid the salmon! don't worry about it-they handle it properly!

AND i sure hope you are feeling much better---next time have the steak!!!

I'm going with the allergic reaction theory too.
I would call Villa and ask them how they make their Salmon (ie. what they cook it with, herbs, sauces... basic ingrediants) so you can bring that list to your Dr and investigate further.

Yeh, Im thinking it might be allergy to something also because I really haven't heard about people getting sick from salmon - maybe other fish or chicken but not salmon.....I tried to look up info on the web and I really didn't find anything except that raw salmon can make dogs sick but not humans. I don't think the food is something to worry about at Villa's.
