so if you had to pick, which would you do and why?
prices are roughly the same. it's going to be an evening (friday) wedding if that helps. If I go with the Fox Hollow,my room would be the WGP.
Thanks ladies!

Re: Villa Lombardi's or Fox Hollow?
ok im not really biased.....but I have been to both.
Villa Lombardis to me is a little *gasp* overrated. YES the grounds are pretty, the CH is INTENSE, the rooms are nice...didnt particularly care for the food at all, CH was very good but dinner not so much. The fold back painted gym walls-pretty yes...it killed the look of the room and I feel like it lost the elegance bc of it
Fox Hollow-The food was pretty good, choices for dinner were great. The grounds are ok-not as nice as VL but nice, its very warm and cozy and almost rustic feeling.
With that said...they are 2 difference beasts. VL is very flashy, in your face elegance-marble/granite floors, a few gorgeous chandeliers.....FH very pretty down home comfy.....which do you prefer

Re: Villa Lombardi's or Fox Hollow?
I am biased, but I have been to 2 weddings at the fox hollow, and both were amazing. I never had heard of a cocktail hour, so I ate like it was the meal and had very little room left for the actual Dinner. FOr the money, you get so much food, and with the decorations for the cocktail hour being included, it helps with the flower bill.

Re: Villa Lombardi's or Fox Hollow?
I've been to wonderful weddings at Villa Lombardi's, but I just had to pick Fox Hollow... because well, I'm biased! I've received nothing but great service since I've booked (and I've been back 4 times). It's more rustic, and I like that.

Re: Villa Lombardi's or Fox Hollow?
I looked at both and I do like Villa better....however, I didn't pick it b/c FH hated it. He thought it was too 'italian'.....No offense to anyone, I personally love it, it was just his opinion. He wanted something with a more 'cozy' feel and thats what we are getting at Fox Hollow.

Re: Villa Lombardi's or Fox Hollow?
I would go with Fox Hollow. I have been to a couple events at Villa Lombardis and while FH and I frequent Mamma Lombardi's the restaurant, the food at the banquets is just okay. The cocktail hour is great, but I found the food at the sit down dinner to be just okay, nothing spectacular. I agree with the other poster about the 'painted gym like wall' It certainly took away from the elegance of the room. JMHO

Re: Villa Lombardi's or Fox Hollow?
i didn't find villa all that elegant to be honest.. i am not sure what the wow factor is.. yes the marble and granite is great and cocktail is awesome as well.. but i felt like it was a restaurant or a banquet hall .. but its beautiful though..

Re: Villa Lombardi's or Fox Hollow?
I am not biased. I didn't choose either but Fox Hollow was soo great. I almost wished it was our style more. They BM was so awesome. I love the little fox stuffed animal its so cute. LOL! My dog loves it now. LOL! I think it was a great package and I hear the food is amazing. I think Fox Hollow is nicer than Villa Lombardi's... but thats JMO.
I love the Winter Garden Pavilion!!
I am Italian and I agree 'Villa is very italiany' almost too much. I think Fox Hollow is more classy and upscale personally.

Re: Villa Lombardi's or Fox Hollow?
thank you ladies!
it's not marble/granite that's doing it for me at VL....it's actually the back for the ceremony and the Ch room.
I wanted the outdoors brought in feel and while i do get it at BOTH places, there's a tradeoff.
VL CH room is gorgeous, the reception room is so-so, and the ceremony outdoor site is beautiful.
Fox Hollow's WGP is the prettiest room I have seen, yet the outdoor/indoor ceremony area is so-so and the Ch is so so.
ahh decisions, decisions

Re: Villa Lombardi's or Fox Hollow?
I am a Fox Hollow Bride and I love the place, but I just heard one thing to be careful about the WGP - someone just had a day wedding there and said it was SO HOT! I didn't even think of that...she said it has the green room effect...so if you are thinking about getting married in the summer in the day make sure you talk to them about the temperature of that room.
I went to two weddings there before I booked it for my own and I just thought it was such a fairy tale place! I love it! And they give you A LOT for your money!
