Re: Village Bridal & Boutique

I was there this past weekend with two of my BMs for BM dress shopping....didnt get my wedding dress there so I don't have experience on the wedding dress side - but, the woman who was helping us was extremely nice. I know this might not help much - but good luck!

I looked there. They were pretty good. The only thing that turned me off to them was I had a dress I was thinking of getting (I saw it at another store). They didn't have the sample but showed me one similar. It was nice too, but I was still set on the other dress. As soon as I told them my wedding wasn't too far away, they put the pressure on me to order. The longer i was in the store the more mean and pushy the saleswoman got because she wanted me to order something. She and the owner himself even proceeded to tell me that the dress they had in the store was sooo much better than the dress I originally liked, and that the dress I liked was not that nice (they looked at it on the internet). This completely p*ssd me off. I might have ordered the dress from them had they not done that (they were both maggie dresses, they just didn't have the sample of the one I got).

Sorry that was so long.

I liked my experience there but and I loved a maggie dress that they had. So came home and called another store to see if the price they had was reasonable and they marked it up over $300. I called 2 other stores and they all had it for the lower price. A week later I got a card in the mail which offered me 20% off any dress. I feel that this is a shady business practice. They want to make you feel like you are getting a deal when you are not. I did not buy my dress from them.

Don't apologize, I'm glad you told me. Salespeople have a tendency to push on people because that's what they're trained to do and it stinks. Ever walk into Victoria's Secret and get bombarded in every room? They MAKE them do that. (take my word for it)

I just love them over there. I find them to be very helpful, nice, and personable. My older sis bought her dress & BM dresses from them. Then I had my FSIL go their for her wedding, she fell in love with them. Then I told my BF to go their, and she fell in love with them. So now I am using them also. The seemstress is awsome, so does such a great job!

I also get those 20% off coupons from them offten, so I don't think it was a case of bad business. I think they're part of LI weddings and that's how the get everybody's address. 'I think'

I happened to love this salon. JMO

I got my dress there. Everything has been really pleasant so far. At first I thought they were charging me a lot for alterations, but after reading what some the other girls have paid at other salons I got a bargain!

I have had great experience with them. They didn't have the dress I wanted but I liked the people when I first went there and they gave me my dress for the lowest price out of the few places I called. I got my veil and tiara from them and bridesmaid dresses too. They have been wonderful! Highly recommended!

They were the first place that I looked. The place is beautiful and I liked that they encouraged my mom and I to look through the racks. I was turned off though when the girl turned to me and said 'go ahead' and pushed me into the dressing room - alone! I seriously could not get these huge dresses over my head (and i can't step in; my hips are too big!). My MOM had to come in - we actually ended up with scrapes from all the crinolin and zippers! I was also turned off that they couldn't tell me what the alteration price would be when I inquired after liking a specific dress.

What a treat it was when I went to my next two places, where they put me in appropriate undergarments, AND the saleslady went into the dressing room with me to dress me. It was a treat for my mom too, not to have to WORK during one of the most exciting experiences we will have!

I also thought it was shady I got a 20% off coupon a few weeks later. I mean, 20% is a significant amount. I'd be really angry if I ordered my dress that day!

I'm so happy that I ended up with a completely different dress at a true full-service salon elsewhere!

It's funny because I actually did not like having a salesperson in the room with me and putting the dress on me! I was a little taken back when I went to bridal reflections and the girl came into the room with me...I was like uhhh is this necessary!

I agree!! I liked that my sis could help me get dressed and I had a lot of fun. I got my dress from them and I love them

Oh and they did tell me how much my alt cap was and that the bustle was extra but also capped.

I absolutely love them. When I was first looking at dresses, they quoted me 799 for my maggie dress. When I actually went back to order, it was 899, but they gave it to me for 799 because that was what they first told me. I have had nothing but a great experience with them and I already went for my first fitting. They have been great. My 2nd fitting is the 18th, so I can update you then if you would like.

Have had a great experience so far and love the dress I got! Also ordered the BM dresses which we are waiting on...haven't made it to alterations yet, but they have been very patient & accomodating overall.
