Vineyards Wedding

Does anyone know anything about having a wedding out east at the vineyards? I gave always wanted my wedding there but I have heard some crazy prices. Like $20,000 for a sight fee alone.

I wanted a wedding at the vineyards SO badly! But after contacting 4 different vineyards, the lowest site fee I found was 10,000, and that doesn't include food or any rentals!

One of the nice people at Sterling told me that when all is said and done, you should estimate spending about $350-$450 per person (including site fee, rentals, food, alcohol and decorations) for a wedding at a vineyard. I don't know how true this ends up being since we decided it was too rich for our blood!

I know Martha Clara does weddings through Lessings, but I haven't heard the greatest things about their service, so I didn't look there.

Check Martha Clara, I don't think their site fee is as much as other vineyards, however I think Sept is prime season for all the vineyards. They have suggested vendors & caterers that help with rentals, but Lessings is not one of their preferred.

Also, check Vineyard Caterers, I think now called The Vineyards. They have a small private vineyard pretty much for pictures and ambiance but in a more classic reception hall setting. I have read their prices are pretty reasonable. Good Luck!

site fees at the vineyards range from 5000 to 20000 (Raphael is one of the more expensive ones)

we were originally going to have our wedding at vineyard since we live on the NF and I've worked at a vineyard in teh past and have grown up surrounded by vines, but after pricing everything out, we decided to go with Vineyard Caterers (The Vineyards now) which is affordable but still has a vineyard feel. They also make their own wines at Jamesport Vineyards that is strictly used for their events. The staff there is amazing and we can't rave enough about how great our night was. The pictures on the website are more outdated adn do not do it justice. Look them up on facebook for more updated pictures. They are listed as Vineyard Caterers. If you want to friend me on FB you can see my pictures from our wedding. I'll be posting all my pro pics within the next few days. FM me if you want my FB info. Also if you have any questions dont hesitate to ask.

i looked at a bunch, and all the vineyards (even the small ones) charge a site fee. It ranged from $5,000 (for the no name vineyards) to upwards of $15,000 for the bigger ones like Bedell and Raphael.

But I've heard they have dropped the prices since I went looking last June. My advice would be to just go there one day and make appts at a bunch of them. Just check it out... it's worth a shot!

BUT - I can tell you that the Sterling was right. If we had the wedding where we wanted, it would have been close to $350 per person when all said and done, and that's just for the location and food.

THIS. THIS. Plus, you have to use porter potties if you do it on a Vineyard! I just couldn't contemplate cutting my guest list and spending all that money to have it on a vineyard with porter potties! I don't care if they're made of marble.

Re: Vineyards Wedding

The FI and I just booked with Raphael Vineyard! I'm so so very happy about it. I hope everything turns out well!

Raphael has a site fee and an on-site caterer and you don't have to go fishing for tons of other stuff. There is also only one wedding a day at Raphael Vineyard. The things NOT included are Music, Flowers, and Photography.

The FI and I were not able to get any discounts. I guess our haggling skills are lacking a lot. Site fee ranges for the time of year. They can be super expensive, like $15 grand for site fee on Saturdays in the summer, if you pick a Friday it's 50% site fee. Winter is much cheaper, but there is still a site fee! Maybe they'll be up to haggle then, I'm not sure.

The Vineyards is a Catering hall with a small vineyard on its grounds, and a nice garden, but its primarily a catering hall. They give good prices compared to the working vineyards. The guy in charge is Super Sweet too. There's no site fee there. The decor is a little dated but with no site fee and the cost per head pretty low in comparison to say Raphs, its really reasonable and nice.

Martha Clara and a few of the other vineyards just seemed like a lot of work and hassle that we just didn't want to deal with. You have to pay a sight fee for the barn or wherever you want it in one of their 'galleries' or rented tent. Then get an outside caterer and set up all that other stuff.... Lots of work and not cheap. They've got a few live sheep there, turtles, mini pigs, so it smells a little but its cute if you have a lot of kids at your wedding (Martha Clara).

Good luck!!!

Re: Vineyards Wedding

I honestly do not think that Vineyard Caterers is outdated at all considering i just got married there 2 months ago!!! They have removed the mural and have put in a new dance floor recently. They've redone the bridal suite and have put furniture outside on the deck overloking the vineyard. The people who own it are amazing and so sweet. The Maitre D will bust his *** for you so much that we sent out DOC home early. They are always available when you have questions and it is just an amazing place

I think before you listen to what someone on here has to say about it being dated, you should really check it out for yourself and see how you feel about it. It definetly had a vineyard feel and has beautiful grounds and the price is definetly very reasonable. We paid a little over 100 a person for a friday night in June with tax and gratuity

Re: Vineyards Wedding

Thank you so much for the info! We are def gonna check out The Vineyards. We passed it by when we went out to Rapheals last week. I do not think I have ever noticed it before, or maybe we just went a different way then we usually do. Either way, thanks again for the info!
