I wanted so badly to come back here and post pics and all, but then thought twice about how, with all I revealed, it was probably not a good idea to identify ourselves in case people recognize us. So... if a newbie happens to come around and post some pics, you'll know who it is. Just don't tell!
To be brief, I really did get over it-- it's not that I don't ever think about it anymore, but I didn't think about it on that day at all. We did a lot of talking-- all of us. His father explained it to me the best. He compared it to gambling at a casino, and said, 'You know how, when you're sitting there with a bucket of quarters, it doesn't feel like real money? You can throw $100 of quarters into a machine without blinking, but you wouldn't toss a $100 bill away so easily. It just feels like Monopoly money.' He said that's how it felt with the stripper-- like this wasn't something real, it was a crazy moment they all got caught up in and got carried away with.
I then spoke to one of my best friends who was there, and he told me that there was so much pressure on my DH to go off in private for a lap dance with her (almost all the men tried to pay for it), but he wouldn't. That made me feel better, too.
Anyway. The wedding was pure magic. My dad surprised me with a horse and carriage, DH cried and thanked me for forgiving him, he sang a song he wrote to me at the reception... just an unbelievably wonderful day. And so far, married life is better than I hoped.
I just want to say that I don't know if I could have gotten through this without all the support i got from people here, though. While everyone else was trying to downplay it and make me feel like I was the crazy one, it was wonderful to have people who understood and didn't try to make ME feel bad about it!
A hundred thousand kisses to all of you, best of luck with your weddings, and I'll try not to stay away so long next time.
