I'm thinking of booking with VIP studios in Pt Jefferson. Has anyone actually used John & gotten proofs back yet? Were you happy?

My friend used them in October. She loved her pictures. I saw them Sunday and I thought that some of the pictures looked a little weird. In group photos, some peoples faces were blurry and some were clear. I don't understand that. My fiance said bad lenses? I am meeting with Steve from Patken tonight (we booked them) and I am going to mention it. Lisa

What? Blurry...
Ok, now you've got me nervous. I haven't booked them yet but that's who I plan on booking. Has anyone else experienced this with VIP?

I`m using VIP...
My sister is a photographer (not weddings) and she came with me and was satisfied with Johns equipment (she is using him at her wedding as well). anyone you use will have blurry pictures... stef28 from this site used him and I saw some of her proofs and they were great. I also leafed through a set of proofs he had just picked up (straight from the developer) and the pictures were not blurry at all...

I met with VIP
Although I love the pictures a few people have posted on here from VIP and I enjoyed meeting with VIP, there was an unhappy couple meeting with him before we did. As my fiance and I were waiting in the adjacent room, the couple was really upset because at least a roll of pictures were developed and they had the proofs, but he couldn't find the negatives for them to develop for their album. In fact, I think it was the doctor and lawyer that he has on the pamphlet he gives to everyone. Although I hate to mention this because other brides are using them, I thought I should say something. I still wouldn't worry too much because it barely influenced our decision. I went with Steve from Patken, but VIP was our third choice. Platinum was our second.

I just wanted to say...
I don't think anyone should ever apologize for providing a 'warning' to other brides on this board about vendors. I'm sure that someone, whether through their own experience or through someone else's, has experienced something slightly negative about EVERY vendor in the wedding business. We are all just trying to do help each other is all. I think it is the WAY in which we warn other brides - how we state things, to try and avoid hurt feelings, although we may have nothing but good intentions. As I've written earlier, I have booked VIP, but nobody on this thread has 'hurt my feelings' with their warnings, because they stated them in a kind way. I think everyone should keep that in mind. Sorry to write all this, but I've seen some really nasty 'warnings', and was pleased to see that no one on this thread practiced such inconsiderate behavior. So thanks!Welcome New Vendors
