I went to see VIP last night and I love his work. For all those that have booked them would you mind telling me which package you got and is John negotiable? For instance I would like more of x but take out y type of thing.

yeah, he is flexible. he will work with you on packages and i think prices. we are gonna do the same. we haven't decided which package, but which ever one we choose we will probably make small changes

I forget the name of my package, but it is the 2K one. And yes, he is negotiable. We wanted more thank you pics and fewer 5X7s and that wasn't a problem.

John did a great job. I don't know how I'm going to narrow down the pictures for my album. I'm working on that now. And it took me a week and a half pick the thank you card!

Hi ladies, would you mind sharing some info on VIP studios. We are almost finished looking at photographers but if you guys think they are so great and they are reasonable maybe we should look there. WHat are their prices ranges and do they do a lot of candids and photojournalism? Thanks so much!!!

Yes Betty lots of candid and a photojournalistic approach, I have yet to use him but I can tell he will be more of a backround guy catching all the moments, not intrusive, and great prices!

he is negotiable with stuff, he made a custom package for me with the diamond package album, I cant wait to have that album it is so awesome! No other studio had anything like it,

Has anyone seen a sample of the collage album though? he was just starting to offer it when i booked I really would love to see what it looks like.

Tara - He did not have a Diamond Package album there when I booked either since he just started doing them. But before I even went to see him, I had seen one at my office and I was amazed by it and fell instantly in love with it and knew its what I wanted. But then when it came time to look for photographer I knew it was something new and lots dont do it, actually the one I saw I think was from Italy. SO I decided that I couldnt not afford it and so why even bother THEN I met with John and he Sprung it on me, I couldnt refuse it, It was SIGN and even though I went over my Proposed Picture Budget I walked in there with, the price was a good one for all I am getting and Worth it to me.

I hope it is as Amazing as the one I saw.

I am so excited for it.

Wow berly that is great! i hope it looks as good as the one you saw too! I never knew he had an office in Massapequa I live right here in farmingdale, wich I would have known that when i went back to see him 3 times!! Good to know though for later.

I used him in July (just picked out our album pics...) and he was great...

What I did was told him exactly what I wanted and he gave me a price...

I have one more question on VIP and your big day schedule. He said that he charges ot after 8 hours. Was or will your big day be over 8 hours and does he waive the OT? Does he negotiate this at all?

I guess that OT is new b/c he came to my house at about 1pm and stayed until the end of the wedding at about 11pm. But that was in 2001 -- there was no talk about OT at that time. I know he's gotten a lot more business in the last year -- so I think this is new policy.
If that's the case make sure to have a good list of must have shots so that you don't think after he's left 'Oh no I wanted that shot'.

not sure...our ceremony was at the hall so he was with us from 10am to 6 pm...8 hours exactly...

for my sisters wedding he came at 1:30 and stayed until 11:30...10 hours...if ot was charged...it was within the package she negotiated for...

geeze overtime was never mentioned to me?! I asked if he'd stay to the end and he said yes. I sure hope not.

I have contacted him just to confirm everything. I should be going in to see him sometime this week to finalize everything. I guess I will have to discuss it with him then.
Tara does it say on your contract what time he arrives and leaves?
