tell me what you had preparred before you met with florists

Like did you know your colors? did you come with pictures? did you know what flowers you wanted?

I want to look at florists but im really not sure what I want. i know I want something high. I havent picked colors because i want to wait till we find a BM dress and see what colors they come in and go from there.

What I did was I went through my pile of magazines and pulled out pics of what i liked, style, color and marked each one for what i liked. In other words - i pulled a deep red rose picture and wrote on it - LOVE COLOR....for style - i'd write LOVE STYLE, etc...

My florist said it was the best thing she could've asked me to do, because it gave her an idea of what i liked.. She said also to try and grab thing you don't like as well - so there's no guess work with, oh i HATE that flower or I HATE when things hang like that...

HTH! :)

I didn't have a full color scheme - just an idea...and she ran with it. My colors have since changed, but since she wrote down all the different flowers I liked - she knew exactly what to do...

I knew my colors - that was it. I knew the BM dresses were navy and my colors were navy and white. I knew I liked pink as an accent color. I also knew I wanted candles in the CP.

My florist had GREAT suggestions! Thank goodness -- I know nothing about flowers!

I had some ideas, but wasn't completely sure.
I knew the color scheme I wanted but not the flowers. I was really hoping from direction from the florist since, hey, they do this everyday!
I didn't get it and am very upset about it.
My advice.....whatever you do, don't use my florist!!!

I had a few idea but I definalty wasnt sure about what I wanted my first time in. I had a few pics of boquets and centerpieces though...just not locked in to anything.
For the most part...they'll need to know how many centerpieces, boquets & boutineers youll need inorder to quote you a price.
At least that how Burtons did it.
Then when you go back closer to the wedding, you'll finalize exactly what flowers you want to use.
I go back next week and Im STILL not sure what my girls whould be holding!! LOL

Re: visiting florists

I had picked my colors, gotten a swatch of the tartan we're using, and printed a page of bouquets and specific flowers that I liked.

I ended up with completely different flowers than I walked in with, and they're gorgeous. Sometimes you just have to let the vendor work!
