Re: visiting the vineyards
I went a couple of times and you can spend as little as 20 minutes to a half hour at some wineries. Depends on how big it is, how much you want to try and if there's a lot of people. It's a lot of fun. I went in the Fall so we went pumpkin picking after and a lot of cute restaurants.

Re: visiting the vineyards
I'd check out:
Pellegrini (my fav) Pindar Martha Clara (a little south from the others) Lenz (not the coolest looking place, but its chardonnay has won some awards) Bedell (my other fav)
I also saw that reallllllly cute vineyard on my way out to Orient Point (might be the farthest one out on 25) called 'Old Field.' It looked BEAUTIFUL....and I think it's on the water. Might be worth checking out! ;)
ETA: All of the above are on Rt. 25 except for Martha Clara. (and Raphael and Palmer are also on 25....I don't know about 48...?)

Bedell Cellar- I can tell you that you wouldn't stay there for an hour, not that it is bad but it's smaller and very 'high end' & they always seemed frustrated when we walked in there as a big group. ( & my girls & I aren't obnoxious haha)
I would say stop at Pindar & that one you'd stay for an hour.
Def. rec. Raphael- you could stay there for an hour
We usually eat at Martha Clara or Macari (we pack lunches & apps)
**Macari vineyard we just visited for the first time on our last trip out there & it was beautiful & we'd probably always eat lunch there from now on.
Def. stop at Corey Creek- smaller and you won't stay for an hour (owned by Bedell)
Pellegrini is also GORGEOUS and they have THE BEST riesling!!!
I've never been to vineyard 48 no Palmer.

Re: visiting the vineyards
you don't need that much time at each vineyard. I would say 30-45 minutes depending on how crowded the place is, how quickly they serve, how much you want to taste and if you want to sit and have a glass as well. You def. won't need an hour at each place...
