visual aid for wedding, need help
I want to show pictures of my Fiance and I during the smorgesboard before the ceremony, but the equipment, the screen and the projector need to be rented, and the place where I am having my wedding is way too expensive. Does anyone know of anyone or any place I can rent this stuff from to use a laptop and a powerpoint presentation to show pictures?

They're just plain expensive to rent....
I looked into renting a projection unit for a laptop here in Boston for a business presentation and it ran over $200 a day - it may have even been closer to $300!!! You might try asking around to see if a university or business would lend you one for the weekend if you have any affiliations there.

200 or 300 for the day is fine, the hotel where my wedding is at quoted me at 1000 for 1 1/2 hours! would you know what I would look under in the yellow pages?

I think I started by searching rental services and found some computer rental companys. Look under Computers - Rental and also Rentals - Office Equipment if there are headings like that.

Do you already have the lap top?
If so, you should check out ebay for a used projector on sale. You can use it for the day, and then either keep it or resell it depending on how much you enjoy it. :) For example: http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1260611819 http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1261000499 You may not need a screen if theres a white wall available! Good luck!

Are any of your friends corporate sales types? If so, they may have one for work that you can borrow!!!

If any of your friends or relatives are in either the marketing, sales or consulting fields then they should have a laptop that you could borrow. They shouldn't have a problem with you just borrowing it for the weekend. As for a screen, you really don't need one, any plain wall will do for projection. Now comes the tricky part...the projector. But if your friend is a consultant or a sales person they should have access to that as well. Most people are very flexible and should let you use their equipment. As for experience with PowerPoint, I have tons of it. If you need help in making your presentation, just let me know you can reach me either on this board or at [email protected]. I'd be more than happy to assist you. Good luck! Vickfl77Welcome New Vendors
