Re: Vodka Sauce
My family had an italian restaurant in Brooklyn for years and they were known for their vodka sauce... Ive made it many times and its easy and delicious... 1 small onion chopped fine 1 stick butter 1 can Tuttorusso crushed tomatoes 1/8lb prosciutto-diced s&p 1/4 c vodka 1 sm container heavy cream 1 lb penne pasta
in a frying pan large enougn to hold all ingredients, saute onion in butter until transparent, add prosciutto saute 2 minutes, add tomatoes,s&p, simmer 20 minutes, in a slow bubbling sauce, add heavy cream-enough to make it a light red color, pour over penne & add grated pecorino romano cheese -- enjoy!

Re: Vodka Sauce
When do you put the vodka in?? Just curious. I remember making it years ago and I had to put the vodka in and light it with a match!! Thanks! Your recipe sounds great,. I can't wait to make it!!

Re: Vodka Sauce
I'm supposed to light the vodka on fire?? Ugghh I don' think I will be doing that. Can't I just add it in w/o fire?

Re: Vodka Sauce
ooopps! did I forget to mention when to add vodka?? sorry! at the end before adding the cream, add the vodka slowly and let it simmer about 5 min over med heat, then add the cream, and no you dont have to light it on fire, just let the alcohol boil out...!
