Vote: Should I wear my sister's wedding dress?

My fraternal twin sister just got married in May. Her dress was absolutely GORGEOUS! It is Reem Acra RICH. I LOVE IT! I don't think I could find anything more beautiful. It looks wonderful on me and the best part is that my sister is graciously allowing me to wear her dress if I want!

What do you think?

I say yes! If you like it, it sounds like a beautiful thing to share.

Re: Vote: Should I wear my sister's wedding dress?

If you love I would say, why not. But, since she is your twin, it may look a litle funny to your family seeing the same dress twice. if you don't care about that, than go for it!

Re: Vote: Should I wear my sister's wedding dress?

i think before you make up your mind you should go and try some dresses on. there are so many beautiful dresses out there you might fall in love with. i think its gracious of your sister to allow you to wear it but i think that you might find one just as special of your own.

I agree that you should try on other dresses just to be sure, but if it's still the one, then go for it. You can change your hair, headpiece, vail, etc so that you'll look different. I bet most people won't even realize it's the same dress.

Re: Vote: Should I wear my sister's wedding dress?

if you love it, definately!
Go for it!

You can save money and look beautiful, why not?

The dress looks different on everyone, so, even though your FI saw your sister in the dress, he still didn't see you in the dress.

Re: Vote: Should I wear my sister's wedding dress?

I say go for it...im borrowing my sisters veil, tiara, flower girl basket, cake topper...etc. Why pay the extra money when she already has it and its just gonna collect dust. Dresses can get expensive and if you love the dress I say go for it..that will be extra money you can spend on photos or flowers, or extra guests at the wedding!..etc

I agree... I think you should have your own dress.. but if you are in love with it, do it.. But, as a Reem bride-- she has so many beautiful dresses.. as well as lots of other designers.. I think you should see what else is out there before it's too late and there is no time to order another dress if you change your mind.

btw--we have a Reem Acra brides thread on here.. you'll find it in a search or I can bump for you.

Re: Vote: Should I wear my sister's wedding dress?

I totally agree that Rich is a gorgeous gown, but I personally would not want to wear my sister's dress so soon after she wore it. I assume you are going to have many of the same guests and I think it might be a little weird. I would definitely want to get my own dress. Not to mention, dress shopping is one of the best parts of the wedding planning experience, don't rob yourself of that.

Another thought, if you really want to wear Rich, maybe consider adding straps to it or removing/adding crinoline to change it up a bit.

If you love it... go for it. It will be something you two shared on both of your joyous days.
