Votive placecard question

OK - I love the look of these on the placecard table, plus, they'll add nice lighting to the reception tables...but I'm confused! Whenever I go to a wedding, I usually grab my placecard asap so I can figure out who I'm sitting with (maybe I'm the only one!). Can't do that with a votive! Who wants to walk through the CH with a votive?

Am I missing something? I'd love to be more comfortable with the idea and use it myself...help!?!

I think some people have them put out and lit toward the end of the CH just before guests are told to enter the ballroom. Not sure if that's usually how it's done though.

Thats what we are doing. It helps that our cocktail room and ballroom are on different floors.

Not to be a downer, but you might want to check with your hall about this too. I remember seeing some posts about the hall not letting brides do this because of liability issues.

I think the lit votives look beautiful, especially if it is a night wedding.
