VOTIVE PLACECARDS

VOTIVE PLACECARDS

I bought the votives for my placecards. I was planning on putting clear stickers on them with printed names and table numbers. It seems like everyone is cutting out vellum paper on them. Do you think that has a way better effect. The stickers would be so much quicker to do, adn the paper would be sooo time consuming. What should I do. PLease advise!!!

I am trying the label also. It seems to be alittle easier, you may just have to work out a few bubbles on the votive holder. But as far as them when the votive is lit they are fine. I have tested and approved for myself this option.

Good luck!

have you met with the chcc yet? i met with them a few weeks ago to discuss our menu. i was going to do the votive placecards too and when i told them about it they informed me that when guests arrive at the chcc, guests are immediately given their placecard before they go to the cocktail hour. therefore, guests have to carry their placecard around with them during the cocktail hour. i decided not to do it afterall because i figured i didnt want guests to have to carry a candle around for that hour. i was sooo bummed!!! :( just wanted to let you know though in case you didnt know that!!!!! i am now going to use ALL THOSE CANDLES to put on the tables!!!! sad!!

I didn't really think of that! But it's really no big deal, I don't think. It's a small candle and the woman will hold on to them. It's not like there's dancing or anything at the CH. Thank You for warning me, but I am still going for it : ) You should too...don't be bummed! Who are you working with at CHCC?

So the clear labels work fine? Did you just get clear labels or special ones?

My votive holders are frosted and so are the labels ..a perfect match!!

I think the labels would be a great plan if they look good. I never tried them so I don't know.

There certainly is no one way to do them

and for those that were told by the hall that the placecards are given before the CH, I would ask specifically for that not to occur and for them to set up a table at the entrance to the ballroom. I mean, you pay how much money??? It's your day, your way!! It's one freakin' table. They can oblige you that much, IMO.

IMO, I think the vellum looks better.

I agree. I tested it out with a clear label & a frosted votive. I let it burn for over an hour to make sure the label would not fall off (it didn't) but it did not look as nice as when I did the test with vellum. HTH

Re: VOTIVE PLACECARDS

I've tried both and if you buy vellum paper and put it in your printer and set it up for labels they print just as fast and better. When lit you can see that there are labels over the vellum. JMO but I liked the vellum printed better. Also if you do a search alot of girls found already cut to size vellum for the votives at Michaels and all you had to do was print them through the computer. I also believe they werent very expensive. Good Luck hope info. helps

Vellum looks great IMO.

And you can buy votive candles on ebay for cheaper I think than Michaels.

Re: VOTIVE PLACECARDS

I got my votives at AC Moore. They are straight not like most others it is really simple to make a template and then tape them on with double sided tape. I am working on them this weekend. I plan on printing them out but bringing them to Staples or something to use a big paper cutter to cut them to the exact size.

Re: VOTIVE PLACECARDS

I was just at Target & got 8 clear votives for $4.00 (50 cents each!!!!)

I'm undecided w/ the labels or vellum.

For girls using vellum paper, how are you attaching to votive?

Also, I saw someone was using frosted labels, where did you find them?
