I like the idea of writing our own vows and giving them to each other the morning of rather than stuttering or possibly forgetting them at the altar. So i guess in theory we will be doing both!
Fh doesn't like speaking in front of large groups of people, so he barely wants to even say the regular vows, he just wants to stand up there and say I DO
before we even had a date, we agreed on writing our own vows, its more special to us.

Like Jesca, we agreed to write our own vows before we even got engaged. I'm pretty good with words, but hate public speaking. I'm just going to get over it. We just think it adds an extra personal touch.
i'm kinda torn....i would love to write my own vows and i think FH would be ok with it as well but i get so emotional that i dont know if i would be able to get through it without hysterical crying..i already am gonna need a shot or two just to get down the aisle in one piece
We are doing the standard traditional ones, I like doing the ones my parents said and my grandparents said and so on.....
i am doing traditional ones... i don't think my own vows would turn out to be very good lol (i would have serious writers block!)
