The media has become so gross. They drown us in coverage. I told my Mom today I bet the media is happy something like this happened. It keeps them going. Awful.

O & A were talking about this too.. they said these people get all excited when they get someone to cry. They said one reporter high fived another and said there is my promotion.. after getting someone to cry (unrelated to the VT incident) but thats how they think.. sad!

btw - i totally bawled at my desk when they played that Reagan speech ( on O&A this morning). . .and I wasnt even alive for the Challenger disaster.

I was so happy i was listening to O&A today, i usualy car pool so we listen to z100 in the AM

and on the way home.. either 165 or 166 Dave Ramsey or Dr. Laura (i'm so addicted)

Dr. Laura is on 165 or 166 i forget because its programed hehe... her and Dave Ramsey are on XM starting at 3:00

Dr. Laura answers peoples questions she is a psychologist and dave ramsey is a financial guy he is awesome i bought his book!!!

Its absolutely terrible what has happened... I feel so bad for the parents, family, freinds and students who go to VT.

but im getting PO with the media. I can't stand how they have to name everything..

ie:
WInter Storm Watch 2007


Now .. 'Massacre at Virginia Tech'

Its not even so much that they refer to it as that..I know they have to refer to it as something.. but they make big bold headlines that fill the screen saying 'More to come on .....' or they make an box in the corner of the screen that says it.


I feel its not about reporting the news its about being the boldest and showing all tears, its all for ratings.. makes me sick.

does this bother anyone else?

I know exactly what youre talking about! I was just talking about this with a woman at work today. Honestly, its disgusting.

I agree, the media is going to use such a big story as much as it can...

I am particularly disturbed by this event though, and in weird way feel comforted to share the pain, even if miniscule in proportion, with the families. i have family members attending the school, who are safe, but theres a part of me that sees how real and how close this tragedy could be to any of us. i feel i will be grieving for a while for these families.

you're absolutely right. it's sickening. i try not to watch the news, but when things like this happen i feel compelled.

i can't stannnnnnnd the way media covers things. i wish 24 hour news stations and invasive people would all get bopped in the nose.. they talk about getting 'assualted' when peopel screamed o&a party rock on their live broadcasts.. but then when they are tryign to get a 'scoop' they feel they have a right to stick a micraphone in a rape victims face or a family memeber of a recently murdered person... talk about hypocrits

on a side note...
hahaha as i'm reading ur post im thinking hmm i wonder if she listens to o&a.. haha and you do! thats great.. im a huge o&a fan hahah

but i have to admit that i get a little nervous about being one of the few girls in a sea of pests. . .

Did anyone see the cover of newsday today? NOW i can say the media makes me sick. instead of the victims being respected and honored its a huge pic of the shooter. as if the famillies really need to look at that everywhere.
