Its absolutely terrible what has happened... I feel so bad for the parents, family, freinds and students who go to VT.
but im getting PO with the media. I can't stand how they have to name everything..
ie: WInter Storm Watch 2007
Now .. 'Massacre at Virginia Tech'
Its not even so much that they refer to it as that..I know they have to refer to it as something.. but they make big bold headlines that fill the screen saying 'More to come on .....' or they make an box in the corner of the screen that says it.
I feel its not about reporting the news its about being the boldest and showing all tears, its all for ratings.. makes me sick.
does this bother anyone else?

I think they need to take a break from it. It's all they show. They need to show other news that is going on. I am sure the families don't want to keep turing on ther tv's to see all of this. And it's just the same info they keep repeating. If something new happends then they should report it not continue with the same thing over and over.

I totally understand what you are saying I can't stand the way the media handles these types of things. And it really bothers me bc I get 'addicted' to the news coverage until I get depressed.
Today when I got home from work I saw the headlines 'Copycats at other Universities?' I totally panicked but all it was - was some 'expert' talking about how crimes like this often have copycats. . . .I thought another event had actually occurred!

i agree its so repetitive.its all EVERYONE is talking about. Its important to acknowledge the poor students who were murdered, but they dont even have anything new to say, they just show picturse of people crying.. its all about the drama... you are right.. lets just stop and pray for the families... stop sensationalizing every aspect

HAHAHAHAAHA so true. I feel bad for the families and for the people who are hurt in the hospital.. although I have been glued to the tv, I just feel bad for the whole situtauion

O & A this AM said that if this would have happened last week, that Imus prob wouldnt have been fired because the media would have been all over the YT story and not Imus. I totally agree.

it is definitely so true!
The media is so disgusting - interviewing students hours after they were shot at and saw their friends killed. . . i am sorry i know it is their job to inform us but it is just ridiculous.

i changed from CNN to adventures in hollyhood..much more entertaining..i cant be saddened by all taht..it *****..but im not giong to watch everything..there really isnt much more to find out..the guy shot people and then killed himself..now its a week of everyones opinions on why they think he did it or if guns kill people or people kill people

I know... it was a powerful speech! He was some speaker and so warm and his words were so honest bush on the other hand.. s ucks in that dept!!
I was so happy i was listening to O&A today, i usualy car pool so we listen to z100 in the AM
and on the way home.. either 165 or 166 Dave Ramsey or Dr. Laura (i'm so addicted)

I agree, especially since they do not give any additional information except to continue to plaster it across the screen
