VYC Brides

FH and I get closer to booking the VYC everyday but I always get nervous about something new lol

Has one or is anyone using the two room of the first floor? How was it? Was your room set up at the right time? Did it look like you wanted it to? Im nervous that it will just be thrown together.

I'm sure it wont look thrown together...
next time you are there you should ask if they have a layout of how the room will look with the dj set up and all that...they might have something like that.

good luck! havent even had my wedding yet and i know you wont be disapointed if you chose VYC!!

I visited when they were setting up for a wedding and we were able to go in and see; it didn't seem like they were throwing it together at all. They seemed to be very focused and coordinated!

We used the first floor for everything and it was perfect. The side room for cocktail hour was set up nice, plenty of room, with more tables out on the deck. They opened up the doors through the cocktail hour room to the main room when it was time to start the reception. I loved having the downstairs room because we had a access to the whole deck the entire time. Best of luck in your booking!

Congratulation on Booking, we actually booked July 18th 2010. I suggest you ask them when they're having a function and if you can see the room set up right before it. We asked that and we got to see our room set up for a wedding, the same size as ours.

Yeaay for VYC. I too am having my CH downstairs and on the deck and the upstairs main room for dinner. I think that they leave a big enough gap to make sure they have enough time to properly set up the downtsairs room.. they were pretty strict about things so the two parties dont interfere with eahcother so I have faith that they would do a great job setting up the room downstairs for the 'second' party of the night.

I prefered the downstairs room actually bc you could use the deck the whole night .,. and because they actually had that room available for a saturday.. but the BM was afirad that the side cocktail room would not be big enough for my number of guests so I had to swicth to upstairs and a sunday.

I am keeping my fingers crossed though that they dont end up booking a second party for my date so we could use the deck the whole night .. so far so good (for me)!

Was wondering if anyone remembers...what color is the upstairs room?? I remember the downstairs being a lot of pink & gold, but was the upstairs mostly blue??

The chandeliers had some blue in them and the walls were like a salmon khaki color with a lot of gold accents (of course)

Girls that are getting married at the VYC what colors are you using for the reception (i.e. flowers, accent pieces etc etc)

That is what i was thinking as well.. ivory, gold , champagne and some blush . My MOH's dresses are more of a melon pink-- i was thikning of maybe adding some darker pink as an accent (i.,e. the color ink on the table numbers, some dk pink flowers in teh CP) but Im not sure how that will look.

I was originally thinking all white flowers for teh centerpiece but I wonder if that will be too dull? What kind and color flowers are you doing to fit into the 'cream , beige' family?

When I went there, they had a few tables set up and they were using tall vases with branches of flowers and it was beautiful because the brown on the branches matched well with the colors in the room.

I'm going with navy BP dresses and the flowers with have dark dark purples and some medium to light purple/lavender for contrast. i think if the keep the tables along that color scheme with some creme colored flowers running through, it would look nice and not clash with the room (downstairs big room for CH and upstairs for reception).
