VYC or CLM?

oh no....those are two problems for me too....I haven't gone there yet to see the place yet tho.

If it rains, is the area where you would have got married nice? You said it was in the basement, but is it dressed up nice or anything?

I only had 2 probs w CLM.

1 - they have no elevator and the bathrooms are downstairs. i have older relatives and this is a problem. ,y o walks w a cane so that was out.

2 - if i got married there and it rained, i was getting married in the basement and that was a deal breaker.

That definitely is a big problem with CLM. We are in the downstairs room, so not a concern for me, but I can see it being a dealbreaker. I think there are bathrooms upstairs too though.

The place where they marry you inside is really nice IMO. We are getting married in church, so again, no concern for us.

It's VERY nice! You need to go see it for yourself! You said before you are having a big wedding, so you wouldnt be in the upstairs room...that one only fits like 150 I think. We are having over 200 people so we had to be in the downstairs room. It's soooooo gorgeous!!!

It's beautiful...the indoor ceremony spot is where TWOTY was this year...check out the review for a couple of pictures...it was light and really pretty. I felt like it wasn't a 'back up plan' for inclement weather

I am totally going to go see it! I can't wait cause it sounds amazing....but now i'm getting a little worried. I want to be married outside, but of course there needs to be a backup plan. Is the 'basement' just the downstairs room? Where would they do the CH? Is the bathroom really far from the room?

I know i will ask CLM these questions, and i will. But, now i'm just getting a little nervous.

It's a downstairs room. It doesnt look like a basement...It's really nice..There are pictures on here...pics

This is from TWOTY...the ceremony is in the basement..it's really beautiful!

The CH has it's own room..it's across from the main room downstairs. If it's nice, it's an indoor/outdoor CH which i LOVE!!!!!

the bathroom is not far from the room!

I went to a wedding a couple weeks at the VYC and i wasnt all that impressed - you can FM for more details if you want.

Ive been to a wedding at CLM and was really impressed with it there. Only wedding i have ever been to where they offered us 2nds lol

makes me sad to read these not so great reviews of VYC

The no elevators was the only problems we had with CLM as well. My 94 year old great grandmother wouldn't be able to walk down the steps for our ceremony and since it's in the dead of winter, having it outside is not an option. We're trying to weigh it out though. FH loved the place so much that he said 'Well, I have a bunch of football player groomsmen that can carry her down'. LOL.

And don't be sad MR1223. They gave you an amazing wedding day and that's all that matters!!!

I got married at the VYC and we LOVED IT!! food was amazing! and they did offer us lots of extras!
Everything about that place was amazing!! i cant even begin to tell you how many people told us how elegant the place was!!! We delt with Daisy who was fanastic!!

we did also go look at the CLM and i did fall in love with the out door space! (and the yacht arrival) i wasnt very impressed with the inside room! but altho i was there for TWOTY this year and it was really nice! I told DH i wouldnt get married there unless he would promise me it was going to sunny and beautiful cuz to me it was the outdoor space i fell in love with.

any questions about VYC just ask!!! and LIW's also had twoty at VYC in the past too!

well I went to a freaking awesome wedding at VYC a few years back. food was great, service was great. we had wine service at the tables. so i'm chiming in. one of my fav weddings.

I just wrote back to your FM, but forgot to mention that. Every bride and groom get a yacht arrival during cocktail hour. It's soo cool and a nice extra touch. It's included and everyone can get it as long as the weather permits.

I had my reception at CLM upstairs and there are bathrooms just for the upstairs and I had 2 wheelchair bound guests and both made it upstairs just fine. And my 94 year old grandmother was just given extra time to go upstairs....they pulled theses people out of CH a few minutes early to avoid the crowd. CLM will really do whatever they need to, to make your day perfect.

VYC is GORGEOUS!!! so is CLM, i guess bc i live in lindenhurst i never really wanted to get married at CLM....

VYC can def fit 250-300 people.....they have one room that is HUGE!!!
