VYC or CLM?

VYC or CLM?

FH and I checked both out yesterday and were blown away!!! We can't decide!

Any brides of these 2 (past, present or future) have any opinions??

CLM is my #1 so far....so maybe i'll like the VYC too!

Ive never been to CLM, but LIW had TWOTY there.. im sure its fab.

I was not impressed with VYC at all.. IMO

We went and checked out VYC and didn't have a good experience. The place was lovely but they were not nice to us at all, couldn't accomodate our wedding of 150 for a ceremony becaus e it was 'too small' and just didn't really seem to want our business at all.

I went to an event there shortly after and was not impressed with the food. It could have been an off night though...although the waiter asked how i wanted my chicken cooked...I thought..hmmm 'Not raw? '

We got married at CLM and couldnt have been happier...the food, the service, the price, the ambience EVERYTHING was out of this world.

the VYC was TOO SMALL for a party of 150 people?! Dang....so my 250-300 would NEVER fit....strike that off my list. THANKS GUYS!!!

No no what they meant was becuse my party was ONLY 150 they wouldnt accomodate a ceremony for us which turned us off right away

i thought VYC is beautiful and all brand new. that was my # 2 favorite place, they were just a little too far from accommodations for us, but CLM had the same problem. I would have picked VYC over CLM though.

BellaRegina, that made me literally LOL!!!
VYC is in Babylon. A couple of blocks east of CLM. Both are on the sound so the views are pretty much the same. Check it out if you get a chance.

ChrisandJeanne, because of the time of year and the day (It's going to be a Sunday night on MLK weekend) the prices are about the same.....EXCELLENT!!! Nick from CLM told us not to book until we taste the food. He said he can tell us anything but he wants us to see and taste it for ourselves. That OVER impressed us. VYC doesn't offer food tastings until after booking so fo FH those were the pro's and con's.

I hear RAVE'S about CLM but just a trickle here and there about VYC so I was curious. An old co-worker of mine got married at VYC but she said there was some things she loved and some things she didn't but overall, she had a good day.

I am biased.. CLM all the way!

We went for a taste testing and thats what sold us. The food is amazing, the hall is amazing & the grounds are beautiful. Right on the water, can't beat that

Well, i deleted VYC because i thought it was too small....now i'm going to keep it deleted becuase they don't do tastings without a contract. I think thats RETARDED. Food is basicly #1 in my book and i would never book my wedding without having a tasting. Only one place (Glen Island) does that and they are still on my list becuase my cousin's been to 3 weddings there and had nothing but good things to say.

Also, when you made an apt to see CLM, did you ask for Nick specifically? I want him to show me around, but i don't wanna be a jerk and be like 'I only wanna talk to Nick'.

I didn't specifically ask for Nick, although I was told to. But when i went in, an older gentleman (his name escapes me right now) Said that he was helping another bride bring in a few things for her wedding this weekend but Nick will be right out and would take good care of us. (Which he did) I have to be honest, there's NOTHING I don't love about this place and I seriously think this may be it for us!!

I visited VYC....thought it was very nice. I have never been to a wedding there. I have been to a wedding at CLM and its beautiful! Loved the wedding, loved the food, loved the service

My vote is for CLM

just got married at CLM in May. They are absolutely wonderful between the service, food, and atmosphere. When we were looking at halls I also did like the VYC too but we chose CLM because we liked the grounds better and the yacht arrival.

just got married at the VYC in May and had my ceremony there as well. we loved everything about it and the people who worked there were so accomodating and nice to us. FM if you have any questions!

When we first looked, we went VYC first and then CLM..FH and I were not impressed with VYC at all. The outdoor area was too small...we didn't like the rooms...the guy who showed us wasn't that friendly and didn't offer us any add ons or hook ups like every other place does...and we just didnt like it.

Then we walked in CLM and were blown away. We knew that was it! Loved the outdoor area more...love the downstairs room and Nick was awesome to talk to. We met the owner and they HOOKED us up!! Needless to say, we went with CLM.

I have heard good things about VYC. My friend just went to a wedding there and said it was amazing. It's all personal preference.

I only had 2 probs w CLM.

1 - they have no elevator and the bathrooms are downstairs. i have older relatives and this is a problem. ,y o walks w a cane so that was out.

2 - if i got married there and it rained, i was getting married in the basement and that was a deal breaker.
