SO since were having my FH best friend do our ceremony..We get to plan out the whole thing..Anyways..
We have never really called each other by our first names..We don't like them and its weird for us to say each others name..SO after like 2 Weeks of being together..We call each other 'sir and ma'am'
he really wants to do that in our vows..I seriously haven't spoken his name in a year probably..Everyone knows that's what we call each other and will ask me ' SO how is sir doing?' and all that..Even when I we fight IM like ' sir your an ***'
he was to do 'I sir take you ma'am'..and The other way around too
what do you think
being that its not a typical term of endearment

do what makes you comfortable.
if it is a name that everyone knows you call each other it will probably not come as a suprise to anyone.
it makes your ceremony reflect the two of you.

I think it's fine. To take it to the other extreme, if your fiance was Michael but everyone only ever called him Mike, it would be weird to say, 'I take you, Michael...' People would be like, 'huh? She never calls him that, why is she calling him that?' So it's the same with 'Sir.' Calling him by his 'real' name would have less meaning for you.

Use your real names. At the reception use the Sir and Ma'am's
JMO
If that is personal to you then do it. I think you should use your real names at the ceremony andd hen get introduced the other way.

agreed.
FH's name is Steven... I NEVER call him Steven.. only Steve. I have already told him.. I am not going to say 'I take you, Steven'.. just sounds weird to me.
go with what is comfortable and special to the two of you.

the reason why we decided to have his friend do it was because if we had a religious figure do it...it would have absolutly no meaning to us..so this is our chance to have complete comtrol over our ceremony..and i dunno
