SO since were having my FH best friend do our ceremony..We get to plan out the whole thing..Anyways..
We have never really called each other by our first names..We don't like them and its weird for us to say each others name..SO after like 2 Weeks of being together..We call each other 'sir and ma'am'
he really wants to do that in our vows..I seriously haven't spoken his name in a year probably..Everyone knows that's what we call each other and will ask me ' SO how is sir doing?' and all that..Even when I we fight IM like ' sir your an ***'
he was to do 'I sir take you ma'am'..and The other way around too
what do you think
being that its not a typical term of endearment

do what you want - I don't think it sounds silly at all. If I was a guest at your wedding and heard sir and ma'am in your vows - I would be like 'wow, they're really formal.' I might , but not think it was silly.

ok this is my honest opinion
i do agree that it is YOUR wedding and you SHOULD be able to do what you want
BUT i also think you want it to be a beautiful meaningful experience. . . and i am NOT saying that using these nicknames will take away from that
BUT
instead of your guests just watching you two and reacting with tears of joy or just happiness. . . i feel like everyone would be like 'huh? what is going on. . .wait - what did he say. . . ' and it may kind of ruin the moment - NOT- your actual vows just the response to them.
Of course if you feel like a good percentage of your crowd would 'get it' then go for it!!

I think it's cute you use sir and ma'am...BUT I dont think you can legally use sir and ma'am in vows.
You might have to check with other officiants just to make sure it's legal.

we are puttin gour names on the invitations..
we were just talking about doing it for vows because thats just between me and him..
