I will try to be discreet because I do not want to hurt peoples' feelings as my Daughter has been recently hurt. As I have read posts on difficult family members, being critical of the choices the Bride and Groom have made, I thought, thank THE LORD, we don't have those issues!!! To all family members, ours and whoever's, and I say this with all due respect,' The wedding you have been invited to participate in, IS NOT ABOUT YOU!!!!!!' It's about what the Bride and Groom want. Hi Mom and Brides!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the support. It was a crappy Christmas cause my future MIL insists on making my life miserable and giving me really bad unsolicited 'advice'. I had to stand my ground with her (in as respectful a way as I could) cause she just keeps making these rude comments to me and Christmas Day was the straw that broke the camel's back.

The thing is I like my future MIL, but since we got engaged a year ago, she has been acting like a lunatic! I think she is scared of 'losing' her only child to me. But that is no excuse for treating me this way and trying to ruin my dream wedding. I am so glad my mom is supportive of me in this situation. I do not think I could handle it from both sides of the family in addition to the trauma I am experiencing already with my sister and bridesmaids. Why do weddings bring out all kinds of crazy emotions in people?

Today I talked to my FH and he said he talked to his parents and they still love me and feel bad about what happened. His mom did not exactly apologize, but I guess she was trying to apologize in her own way without admitting any of this was her fault. Well, I guess I will accept because I want to keep peace in the family. My FH is too important to me to put in the middle of this craziness. He loves us both and I do not want to make him take sides. I do hope he will stick up for me though in the future. As his wife, my feelings should come first.

Good luck to all of you who are in the same boat with family members. Everyone wants to change the music, the outfits, the decor, etc. It is really getting on my nerves. People want to be in the wedding party mismatched and having done nothing to make themseves look presentable. If worse comes to worse I will make sure the vendors know who is paying them and follow my wishes (and not my MIL or anyone else's)!!
