Walking down?? But with who??

So I have a problem....
Need some help. My father & I have recently became close-Very close & my step father has been around my whole life. He's never let me down. So I am stuck in the middle. Who walks me down or both ?? Then what about the first dance. I don't want to hurt anyone.

Please help!!!

i'd have both your father and stepfather walk you down the aisle ... and maybe do half a dance with each.

either that, or walk down the aisle with one, and dance with the other.

good luck

I think you should sit down with your father and let him know that you love the fact that you guys have become close but your step father has been the one that has been there for you throughout your life and you feel that the right thing to do would be to have him walk you down the aisle and play that role on the day of your wedding.

It's a rough decision but you don't want to hurt the man who has been there for you. Hopefully your father understands..just tell him how you feel..

Yes I have tried that, But he already started w the 'I'm your father' thing. LOL
Uggghh I might just have them both do it. & they have to realize its my day not there's. Lets see how that goes.. LOL

They could walk you down together, or depending on the setup, one could walk you halfway, and the other the rest of the way. Sometimes, sucking it up and letting the both do it is the way to go....just make sure that it's something YOU are comfortable with too!! It *is* your day still!!

Let both walk you down or start out with you stepfather walking you down and have father meet you halfway through and then they both walk you the rest of the way. For the dance, I would pick to separate songs that having meaning for each & have two separate dances.

2 songs is long

you could still have 2 diff songs, but only use 30 seconds or a minute from each.

I'm in a similar situation. I'm having my dad walk me down to avoid awkwardness (that's a word right?) and because I don't want to insult his family. I'm having my step-father do a reading at the ceremony.

My friend had a similar situation. She walked down with both. She had a dance with both of them as well although I think she had planned one with her father and then her step-father got insulted and asked the DJ to play a song for them to dance to.

Its a tough situation with blended families... My Dad is remarried... and originally I would have had my Mom and Dad walk me down, but am close with my Step Mom...

So my Dad will walk me down the aisle where both my mom and step mom will be waiting at the end - and the three will 'give me away'...

So why not let your Mom walk you down, to meet up with your Dad and Step Dad...

And I'd give them both a dance...

I'm with the girls who say have both walk you down! I bet you would feel bad excluding the man who raised you, or excluding your dad after you just rekindled your relationship with him!

I'd say have both of them walk you down the aisle

I like the idea of having your mom walk you down and meeting your dad and step dad at the end of the alter. i would also do totally seperate songs for both at the wedding.

My niece was in the same situation and she chose to have both of them walk her down the aisle and she also had a special dance with both of them. It was very nice that she honored the two of them.

Good luck.

I like the idea of your stepfather walking you halfway and then you meeting your father in the middle and then they both walk you the rest of the way. It sounds like your stepdad has been there the 'whole way' and deserves to be just as much a part as your real dad!

How does your stepdad feel when you explain this situation?

If I were you, and your mom wants a dance...I would do my father daughter dance with my 'real' dad and do the second dance with my mom and step dad togehter...like the three of you....see what your mom says about it...if you even like the idea!

Good Luck...and try not to stress it too much...you need to do what feels right for you and they need to be understanding of this!

I say walk down with both but dance with your step father. He is the one who has ALWAYS been there, and I'm sure he is looking forward to dancing with his little girl.

who would you choose for each if it had nothing to do with other people's feelings?
