Walking down the aisle...

Walking down the aisle...

I've really been thinking about this lately, even though it's not a decision I need to make asap lol...

My dad passed away last year and it's been hard to think he won't be walking me down the aisle

BUT I have a fantastic mom and two wonderful older brothers who are always there for me....So...question is, who should walk me down the aisle???? I know my brothers want to and told me they will and I would love that...but should my mom do it???

What do you girls think??

If I were in that situation I would have my mom do it. But I do not think either way is wrong. I would go by who you are closest with.

But again, there is no wrong answer!

I'm so sorry to hear that. I think it's so nice that your brothers want to walk to you down and I'm sure you mom would be happy to see that. Are they involved in the BP at all? If you had your mom walk you down the aisle you could always ask your brothers to help out with programs or something if they are not in the BP. Good luck making your decision!

you could have your mom walk you down but when it comes to 'who give this woman away' have your brothers stand with your mother and have all of them answer together.

I know its not conventional but I am not having anyone walk me down the aisle. I never had a relationship with my father and although I love my mom and brother, I feel like me walking down alone signifies my independence. not saying this is for everyone, but if you can't decide maybe its an option.

My mom is walking me down the aisle. There is no right or wrong thing to do here.

I don't know your relationshiop with your brothers but if it were me I would have my mom do it.

I think I might have my mom & dad walk me. I haven't made a definite decision yet.

I do like this idea! My brothers could be ushers or something....they are technically in the bridal party, but I figured they would be walking me down the aisle so we didn't necessarily include them in the groomsmen count. WIth them, it will be a little uneven but oh well! lol

If I were in that situation I would have my mom walk me, but it's definitely a personal decision. You should talk to your mom about it.. if it's something that would mean a lot to her, I'd say to have her do it, but there's a chance that she would rather see your brothers walk you down the aisle.

I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad. I can only imagine how hard this is for you. If it were me, I would do what Shannon said above. I'd have my Mom walk me down with my brothers waiting at the end of the aisle. But this is a personal decision, so you have to go with what feels right to you. Good luck!

Go with what your heart tells you, but I think if I were in your shoes I would ask my mom.

I am so sorry I can't imagine how hard that must be. A family friend of ours had a very similiar situation and she had her mom walk her half way and her brother walk her half way and then her husband met them and walked the end with her. She said to her it symbolized that her mom has been there through her life, her brother has been there for her and now her husband was going to be the man in her life.

Like everyone said- you can't go wrong here

My father passed away in 2004, so my mom is walking me down!

you can always have your oldest brother walk you and have your younger brother escort your mom.. so they are both incorporated into the ceremony..
