Walking down the isle...what music is used?

Original post by MrHostility

Yeah, we got informed by the church that 'Here comes the bride' cannot be used, because of it's origin. I don't really understand, it's just a song. So anyway, what do people go down the isle to then? We also cannot use 'the wedding march' according to what we received.

(this is a luthern church, btw)

I'm on dial-up right now and it would take me forever to find a clip--but the Prince of Denmark's march is beautiful, very regal

It's funny how when i told FMIL that i was walking down to Canon in D she says 'why not here comes the bride? everyone uses that!'
Ok, Exactly!

But also, SHE'S JEWISH!!! So if she decides to say that again i'm going to say 'You know Wagner was an anti semite? Do you think that song is really suitable??' LOL that will settle that one.

That's not a bad idea at all! How about when you go back down the isle as husband and wife?

I'm using this:
Erev Shel Shoshanim

Beautiful selection Nadine!! We may use it too. Where did you find it? Are there others available? We would need a song for recessional too. Anything more upbeat?

On Amazon - that particular recording my post is amazing! Recessional - 'Bright, Sun Shiney day' by Jimmy Cliff.
