Here is the specific Walt Disney World Honeymoon site. I don't think there is anything special that they do for honeymooners for free, but you can request 'just married' pins if you tell them at check-in.

There are special things that you could book with them during your stay.

Something nice that they can set up for you though is that you can create a 'honeymoon registry' where people can contribute money for your disney honeymoon.

As far as hotel to stay at- it all depends on what you like and what will best fit the experience you want to have. Grand Floridian is one of the more 'elegant' hotels, but then if you wanted more adventure, the Animal Kingdom Lodge can be just as special.

Walt Disney World Honeymoon

VERY excited to see this post! Sometimes I think I am looking forward to the honeymoon more than the wedding! The above poster made great points. I kind of consider myself a disney world vacation expert, and I put in a ton of research before my vacations, especially the honeymoon! I hate thinking I will find out I should have done something differently when I just spent all that money on the trip!

The hotel is all up to your taste and your budget. In my opinion, if Disney is your entire honeymoon, do one of the deluxe resorts- Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Contemporary, Animal Kingdom, or Yacht and Beach Club (I have read this one is great for honeymooning because it is most 'adult'). However, my FH didn't just want a disney honeymoon, so we are scaling down and adding on a cruise (not disney). Therefore, we will be staying at a moderate level resort. These rooms look more like a standard hotel room, but I still think they can be romantic and exciting. We like Coronado Springs the best, but the others look great too.

My number one tip-- stay on property if for nothing more than the free transportation-- nothing like eating and drinking around the world in EPCOT and not worrying about a ride back to your bed!

Walt Disney World Honeymoon

We went to Disney for a week the day after we got engaged (trip was planned before engagement) We had a great trip & enjoyed the buttons they gave us, (though so many people told us we would get special treatment, and besides a bunch of congratulations we didn't get anything) while we had a great time it was so damn exhausting. I look forward to having a relaxing, beach, sun, and sand honeymoon. If you are a real Disney person I can see wanting to do it, though for us we didn't consider it. Plus for 6 nights in a moderate hotel in October it was over $3000 (with meal plan & park hopper) without airfare. I find that to be very expensive. I've gone on 8 night cruises for literally half the price. If I was going for my HM though I would 100% stay at the Gand Floridian. Amazing!!!

Walt Disney World Honeymoon

My parents are part of the vacation club and go to Disney every year. I went with FH 2 summers ago and had a blast. Look into the Beach Club (my favorite), it's right on the boardwalk and you can walk to Epcot or take the ferry to Hollywood Studios. Plus there's always stuff going on on the boardwalk at night and there is a piano bar/dance place on the boardwalk.

Walt Disney World Honeymoon

FH proposed to me in Disney World this past October. We booked the Caribbean Beach Resort but were upgraded to the Beach Club when we got there due to overcrowding. The Beach Club is amazing! I would highly recommend staying there, the pool is great, there weren't many kids running around, and the short walk to Epcot was the icing on the cake for us (especially since we went during the food and wine festival!)

Request the honeymoon pins and you may get some perks. My sister and brother in law went to Disney for their honeymoon and people kept giving them their fast passes and they got a couple of free deserts at different dinners.
