Wanna see what I made?

So, 8 months ago I took my first jewelry making class and LOVED it. So I thought, why don't I make each of my 6 bridesmaids necklaces and earrings for the wedding? They are wearing black dresses, and are carrying red roses, so I figured red jewelry would be nice. AND I figured, 'Hey, I have 8 months, NO PROBLEM! I'll get it done WAY ahead of time.'

So fast forward 7 1/2 months when I'm only halfway done with them. My friends (not the bridesmaids) knew that I was undertaking this and it was a running joke about whether I was going to finish.

BUT I DID! At 3 pm yesterday they were finished and my hands were killing me. Lesson learned- have fewer bridesmaids next time.

But, I must admit that I love doing it. Just 6 of any one piece is a lot.

So, only because I'm so happy that I FINISHED, I wanted to share my project.

Thanks! It was an adult-ed class at a community college (out here in LA). But I think that they're pretty common.

The funny thing is that I have SO MANY red beads leftover! My original design had a lot more going on, but once I had one done, I decided that it was too busy and started over.

I think that every person I know is getting red beaded jewelry for gifts from me, for the next few years.

I bet they are going to love them especially because they were made especially by you. You are very crafty and you sure learned the trade. Maybe you can start after the wedding a home business doing this. Extra $$$ never hurts....

What a sweet idea. The jewelry came out beautiful. I'm sure your BM's will love it because it was made by you, which makes it all the more special.
