Just saw The Metropolitan. With an indoor ceremony room, an elegant atmosphere, I really want to book it. However, I have no idea how the food is and just missed a tasting.
I would be thrilled if anyone who has ever eaten there or been there would share their experience...even word of mouth would be helpful.

Uhhh.... this is a really old topic!!
I will reiterate, though (since someone bumped it) - the food at the Metropolitan is AMAZING.
And I will definitely talk to my band about the volume / acoustics there. Good to know!

This is a really old post, but it still comes up so I thought I would give some updated info, since I will have my wedding there in June. We loved the style/ decor, very sophisticated, hip. We couldn't book a place just on looks though. We will have several food snobs,in attendance so the food must be up to par. Eileen is such a pleasure to work with we booked w/ her last Thanksgiving weekend. She arranged a private tasting for my FH, my FIL's and myself on a Sat. night. My FILs travel ofen, and Eileen was able to accomadate us upon their schedule.
Yes the Met may not include as many options as other venues, but The Met. uses the highest quality of ingredients, and the cost for upgrades are very reasonable. My FILs decided to do a few upgrades and add some addiditional options, but IMHO the package they offer is sufficant.
