Want to see my centerpiece?
Went by Flower Michele Florist this weekend to see my sample centerpiece. I absolutely love what John created. Its exactly what I wanted - high piece with white tulips and candles. http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/ltafone/slideshow?&.dir=/Centerpiece&.src=ph&.view=t

LisaT, one more question
Before I make an appt with them, did you see any other florists? If so, compared to others was she more or less $$? I already saw Cress and Spitz and Peck, and have appts with Pedestals, Burton and Flowers by Maxine. So, I only want to make an appt if she's reasonable. Thanks!

I went to 4 florists...Burton's, James Cress, Flower Michele and Flowers by Rosemarie. John (Flowers Michele) blew them all away with his personality and creativity. His price in comparable to Burton's, less than James Cress.

Just made an appt for this saturday. Do you think I'm going a bit overboard with seeing 6 florists??? At least my sister is going to 3 of them with me, or else I'd be driving my FI nuts!!

WOW!!
Go with Flower Michele, they are the same price, actually we talked John down when we told him what Burtons was charging us the same price. And, John is sooooo much more creative!

Flower Michele Brides...
Where are your weddings?? And, does anyone feel that it's better to go with house vendors or those that are familiar w/ your site, so that the process is seamless? I guess this might be more for photographers and djs, but maybe for florists too.

WOW!!
I am getting married at John Anthonys in May. I went all in house except for the DJ. I felt they know John Anthonys and have a good relationship with JA's staff.

I went with the house florist because it saved me money on centerpieces...only paying for an upgrade...which allowed me to put more money into other flowers for the reception. If I had to pay for each centerpiece separately, I would have done without centerpieces for the cocktail hour. This allowed me to add a special touch to that part of the reception also. See my post from 2 days ago about my experience. Luckily the house florist was wonderful. Yes, they did know the site well, right down to the size of the cake table, and were able to save me money on decorating it (I would have added bouquets of flowers to the table, but there really isn't room, so we are doing a floral ring around the bottom of the cake). I did see the benefit in the florist knowing the site, although I am sure most florists know the most popular sites by now.

Our wedding is at Land's End. They don't have 'house vendors' though there is a list that they recommend (one for each category). I didn't use any of those vendors. If its a concern of yours, keep in mind that most vendors are familiar with the popular places. John (Flower Michele) has done other weddings both at my church and Lands End. But even without that, I would have felt comfortable. You've got a busy day tomorrow - flowers and your trial with Kristen! Let me know how it all goes...

Flower Michele Brides...
We booked Flower Michele and they are not our house florist..I saw his advertisement on here almost a year ago..and after hearing such great reviews about them on this website we met with them and really liked John's ideas and his creativity..we just loved how he created all these great ideas for our wedding and he tied in the colors of our BM gowns and he is seemed more detail oriented then the other florists we looked into. The only vendor that I think is important to really know your reception hall is your photographer..def. make sure they know your hall..they need to know the best places to take pictures..and IF- it rains you want them to know how to creat a great background in the reception hall with a seconds notice. anyhow..good luck to you!! :)Welcome New Vendors
