Re: Want to see my invites?
Stef they look AMAZING. I Love the seal. Is it a wax seal? The colors are beautiful - so seasonal. Some day I'll figure out the digital camera thing and post mine! Good luck and enjoy getting the responses back!

Re: Want to see my invites?
The seal is actually made out of colored hot glue. It looks just like real wax but isn't as fragile or expensive!I addressed the envelopes myself using my PC and Bickham Script Font (the same font used for our names on the invite). Very close approximation to calligraphy and free!

Re: Want to see my invites?
And you had no problems getting the envelopes through the pc? I am so concerned that there will be a jam or something...and since my invites are coming in a little late...where did you get the seal?

Re: Want to see my invites?
I used a laser printer to do the envelopes. If you only have a inkjet, forget it - its not worth the hassle. But I had no problem with getting them through the laser. I did a test before and it seems anything up to 100lb paper will work with it - my envelopes are much less.
I got the seal online.
Just do a search online for brass seals and you will find a bunch of sites that sell them.

Re: Stef they're Gorgeous!!!
Wow, Stef, they are beautiful. You put a lot of work into your invites, and it shows. Great job.Good call on the glue seals. One of my cousins used wax seals, and after spending lots of time, money and effort, we found out many of them fell apart going through the mail. Not sure if this is typical or if we just didn't do a good job. The glue seals (from what I hear) are much more user friendly.
I'm just about ready to begin addressing envelopes-also doing them on the PC myself. I figured out the formatting, set up a mail merge in Word, and I'm now searching for the perfect font (which can take me all week, I LOVE playing with fonts!!). Any helpful hints from the expert??? I'm hoping this will be a relatively painless undertaking!
Best wishes with the rest of your planning!!!

Re: Stef they're Gorgeous!!!
SS: What kind of font are you looking for? Im a font freak myself. What are your invites like? It should match the style if not the font itself in my opinion. If you choose the right font - it will be pretty easy. The font I chose is a real pain so it took a bit longer.Oh, and real wax is extremely brittle. If you drop a letter, the seal will crack...thats why I chose glue. And it looks very much the same.

Re: Want to see my invites?
Steph, So you used glue for the seal?? I was looking into the one site b/c I'm interested in getting my fiance one with a 'B' partyly for a wedding gift.Because since he is in the military he always jokes that if he had a wax seal he would send more letters.. lol
So, I think it would be perfect.
I just wasen't sure if you meant you choose to you glue or that you bought some type of glue type stuff they sold with the seals.
Also the invites are amazing and I'm not suprised!
Best of luck with your planning. I would never have the time to do what amazing things you are doing as well as the money!
