want to use moms veil....please help!! ***UPDATE***

In 1993 my mother was in a horrible car accident involving a drunk driver. Thank god she is here right now because the doctors said she wouldnt make it through the night. I thought of using her veil because i am her only daughter and thought she would love the gesture, also the fact that she does not remember her wedding day at all!! maybe seeing me wearing it will bring some of the memory back. As for my question....... i looked at her veil and it is white but it has become a little discolored and it has a lace trim on it that doesnt match my dress. Is there anyway i can get it cleaned up nice and have the lace remoived so it looks new?? I didnt know if that can be done. any help would be great!

well after 3 places said they were afraid to touch it and ruin it my mom said 'lets try it!' she took it to her friends house and they took the lace off. Then she brought it home and we soaked it for 6 hours in oxi clean...............
ITS WHITE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and it didnt get ruined or fray I am so happy now i just need someone to do the bead and crystals on it!!!!!!!!

I am so happy i am having the greatest day i have had in a long time!!

I WOULD TOTALLY bring it to a veil expert!!! What a beautiful gesture; i hear GREAT things about Denise Leli, i know she's an LIW vendor, why not bring it to her for a recommendation???

def put google to work to see if you can find a specialist- Im sure someone can do something! I think its great you will be wearing her veil!!

If it's not salvageable you might be able to incorperate it in another way. I cut 2 layers off my moms veil and gave it to my florist who is wrapping my Bo-k with it. Just an alternative

Definitely take it to Denise, she may be able to work on it and do something for you. Can you just cut the lace off or does the veil become to short?

What a nice gesture!!! I would definitely take it to someone who knew veils and if they can't clean it maybe they could make you an EXACT replica of it minus the lace?? Just an idea.

anyone have suggestions on where to take it to get bead work done...i am going to bring it back to helens cause thats where i got my dress and they can match it....any other suggestions would be great! thanks
