Wanted: Tux recommendations and tips/hints

We haven`t done tuxedos yet, but will soon. Does anyone have any specific places they`ve used and loved/hated?? Any tips or hints we should be aware of when we do go shopping?? Our limos are with Royalty, and we were considering using the tux place next door to them. My fiance`s brother is getting married in a couple of months, and that`s where they`re going, plus friends of ours used them. So that`s probably where we`ll go, but we`re open to other suggestions. Just out of curiosity, what kind of tux is everyone getting .. double-breasted?? w/ vest or not?? etc. We all go nuts over what the girls are wearing, I`m curious what the guys are wearing too. :)

The tuxes were really easy so far... Big change from girls dresses. We went to VIP in Bayside b/c the Massapequa guys can get theirs in Massapequa and the Bayside guys can get theirs in Bayside. It only took about a half hour! Single breasted black all with regular shirts. I did not pick any of it out, but I like it. Groom and ringbearer with light gray vests and regular suit style ties, guys in blue/black vests and regular suit style ties and the dads in black vest and black bow ties that are the same style as the guys. One recommendation everyone seems to have is to pick up the tuxes 2 days before or more so any problems can be straightened out before the wedding.

Wanted: Tux recommendations and tips/hints

My husband wore a single breasted black tux with a white wing tipped shirt. His vest was white with a really nice print that looked liked celtic symbols to me of gray. He wore the straight tie which matched the vest. The ringbearer also wore the same outfit. The BM & ushers wore the same except their vests, ties & hankies were black with the gray design. It looked really good. It`s all a matter of taste - there are some very funky ones out there. Supposedly some cuts are more suitable for a formal or evening wedding vs a daytime wedding. The tux shop should be able to help you out with that. I went with my hubby to pick it out and we both liked the same cut for him - I cannot picture him in a double breasted tux. Sigh...He looked so handsome. What I liked about his vest being mostly white was something I didn`t plan on: Our photographer took a few pics of us where he had him take the jacket off and I was holding onto his shoulder from the side and put my head on his shoulder a little and he had his arms crossed in front. Kind of hard to describe the pose but the shot of both of us in white is a very striking picture. We used Flowerama`s tux shop in Bayside and they were terrific. They were really knowledgeable and when we went, they were able to dress a mannequin vs. my fiance having to keep trying stuff on which he was very happy about. On a related topic - the morning of our wedding the guys all got dressed at our apt. No one knew which side the boutonierre went on. It was supposedly kind of funny because my brother was going to try to find an internet site to see a pic. Then my husband remembered the bridal magazines I had but they only problem was it took them awhile to find a picture of a groom!! I guess that's why they call it 'Brides' magazine. LOL Anyway, make sure they know where to put the boutonierre.
