Warning Boring Topic

What name brand is the best for pots? Is Cephalon the best? I never thought the day would come where I would be concerned about pots! I need an upgrade from the crappy pots and pans I have now.

All Clad is the best, but they're REALLY expensive. I have to say, I love my Calphalon

Hmm I must check it out. I have those Lydia Bastivich (sp) and they are the worst! I had to chuck my frying pan out it would stick with everything. Damn you know you are getting old when you care about your pots more than going out partying. Stick a fork in me I'm done lol. I like the way Calphalon looks seems more durable. I just never cooked with them. Thanks!

I wanted All-Clad so badly but they were way too heavy for me. I cook a lot and couldn't imagine having to call DH in everytime I needed to empty a sauce from a pan or drain the pasta so I went for Calphalon and I'm really happy with them!

If you're looking for a really good set all clad. They're expensive but they do hold up over time (I'm addicted to the pieces I have). But if you don't want to spend the $$$ then I'd suggest going to wherever you were planning on buying the new stuff and checking out what they have. You're likely to be best off with stainless steel and a heavier pot. One thing I don't like about most of mine is they have the cool touch handles (which only do a marginal job) but it stops me from putting them in the oven, so I'd also recommend non-rubber coated handles; just don't forget to use pot holders.

All-Clad is the best, but if you're trying to be budget friendly, Farberware pots are great. My mom is a pretty serious cook, and she ALWAYS uses her Farberware pots. They cook well and they're easy to clean.

I'm registering for All-Clad. They are expensive, but there are actually several levels of All-Clad you can get, The MasterChef2 line is the least expensive. We were torn between the stainless and the LTD2, but we went with the stainless which is a little bit cheaper.

I have Calphalon frying pans (non-stick) and I thought they would be so great, but the non-stick coating has flaked off just the same as any other ones I've had, so I don't think they're great.

I'd be careful about farberware. My mom, grandma, sister all had farberware and swore by them, but I was told by the lady in Macy's that farberware is no longer made in the US, it's actually licensesd to another company and made in China. I can tell from the coffeepots that they're just not made as well as they used to be, so I decided to go for All-Clad, which is made in the US

I have a set of Caphalon that I love- It is the triply stainless. I have a few all clad pots as well...they are great to cook with but a bit heavy.

Thanks ladies! Yea I might have to go there and feel the pots because if the All Clad is too heavy I might have to pass on it.

I have had Caphlon and they were fine.

But as an engagement gift I got the All Clad.

I LOVE the All Clad. Best pots I have EVER used. They cook SO much better than the Caphalon.
