So as many of us know birth control makes the sex drive decrease...I know we've had convos on here about this. So I've switched my pill a few times and nothing has improved. Here are my questions:
- has anyone found a good pill to switch to?
- is there anythign like a horomone or something else to take to not make the sex drive decrease so much
- any suggestions on how to spice things up?
again sorry if this is an overshare but i need some help...tia!

Re: Warning: Might be an overshare....
I was on Ortho TriCyclen for a long time and it didn't seem to decrease my sex drive. If it did, then now that I'm off it, DH will be locking me in the bathroom at night because I'll want it ALL the time.

spice it up... --watch porn together to get in the mood --use toys, let him use them on you --buy sex games that challenge you to do things --buy sex position books --make a bet between the two of you of how many days in a row you guys can have sex --switch it up and do it different like in the shower or on the couch instead of in a bed.

My BC never did this to me (i've been on it forever), i use Femcon. I know this sounds strange but when i work out a lot i lose the urge. And when I am really stressed and tired I am totally not into to.
It might be a combination of your BC, plus 1 million other things you are doing in a day. I've been buying new lingere to wear, FH will give me a massage. It helps!
really? i thought working out was supposed to have the opposite effect.
This thread should be entitled... 'Things we wish FH knew about females. We're not so strange after all. So there!'

ITA!!! Lingerie makes me feel sexy, especially when it's something I feel really good in. Then, I enjoy wearing it and FH can't stop touching me and that leads to sex. Then, he always offers a foot rub or back rub after, which puts me right to sleep. It's a great incentive for me when I need to go to sleep and once we get started I get in the mood.

i lost my insurance for a few months and went off the pill.. geeez did it make a difference! i had no idea they affected me so much!
i was on yasmin.. and i feel like it made me moody and lowered my drive.. thats a high hormone pill.. so maybe go with something like orthotricyclin- lo or whatever its called.. that was the first pill i was on until i started spotting.

This is a big problem with us too...my gyn tried me on a lot of different ones to help with PMDD, so now that that is under control she is reluctant to try something new to help with the sex drive...
This makes me feel soooooo bad....thankfully FH is totally understanding, but it has to bother him even if he doesn't tell me....

Re: Warning: Might be an overshare....
I tried just about every BC there is out there and my body freaked out with all of them. My MD put me on Nor-QD which is a progestin only pill (same thing minus the estrogin part of the regular pill) The side effects are much less and it is just as effective. It allows your body to remain on it's regular schedule so there is no 'placebo week'. The catch is that you have to be really on top of taking it at the same time every day...more so than the regular pill. It's called 'POPS'.
And to those, like me, who look things up online...WE NEED TO STOP i swear it can make a person crazy!

Have you tried Yasmin
I had no side affects
My dr told me a lot of women can handle the low estrogen ones

Yea I would say to spice it up as well. If you try new things, maybe this will help. I have been a few different pills but total I've been on birth control since before I was sexually active so I don't know how I would be when i am off of it. I go through different spurts...depending on my cycle I guess....spicing things up does help though.

I just switched to Femcon, and the urge is back a little, but I am not sure if that will go away once my system gets used to the new pill. I hope it comes back

i actually just went for my annual gyno appt on friday and i talked to my dr about this.
I am currently on ortho tri cyclin lo. unfortunately, he said that any pills will cause the sex drive to go down...but a lower hormone pill like Yaz or Alesse might help...but then there are other side effects like more spotting etc.
he said the best thing to do is to go off the pill for awhile and just use condoms....but this makes me nervous esp b4 the wedding.
i am still trying to decide what i should do.
i'm using ortho tri lo too. I'm scared to try something new cuz otherwise this one is great
iv been on this pill for about 10 years.. i never realized this.. but I wonder if thats why Im not in the mood sometimes, LOL..... im too afraid to switch now... but let me tell you I hear vibrators always work
