Warning to future CLM brides

I just wanted to let you know that I sent out my invitations. I sent one to myself just to see how fast I get it etc. Anyway, the directions that CLM gave me smeared all over my invites and response cards I even used tissue paper! I just wanted to let you know ahead of time.

wow, that's weird! what kind of paper was it on, card stock or plain paper?

plain paper

I spent over $300 on my invites!!!

ETA - my invitation was card stock of course, but the directions were black wording on white paper.

cheer up... even though I know that's easier said than done. hopefully it didn't happen to all of them!

I would be mad too though.

I know, its not everything, but when I think of the money spent

It's not like I'm rich or anything!

I was the one who would be fine just using word of mouth but did this because its the right thing to do kinda thing and it was ruined!

Yikes- I would mention it to them, at least maybe they can fix the problem. Maybe I'll put the directions in the very front so if anything it will smear on the envelope!

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about this. Maybe you can ask a close family member or friend if the ink smeared on theirs.

Mine were also fine, I just sent them out this week, but I also put the directional cards behind the invite, instead of on top. Maybe it got wet or something.

You have to tell me if that happened to everyone? If so, I'll photocopy the cards and cut them down to size so this doesn't happen... keep us posted!

I know my cousin had REALLY expensive invitations (around $2K!) and the SAME thing happened to her with the direction cards provided by the Carltun. This was over 2 years ago so they may have changed their printer by now...

However, it is my opinion that paper printed with laser printers sometimes smears when rubbed against other papers. I will be printing my directions and hotel information on one card with an ink jet printer for that reason.

I'm so sorry that happened to you NY Bride... Hopefully it was just in yours!!! And honestly, you are probably the only one who will notice! Best wishes and congrats on getting the invites out!!!
