Was anyone else NOT happy at their first fitting?

My fitting didn't go so well. The only thing that I was happy about was that my dress is in the salon. Other than that I really didn't have anything to be happy about. The service su$$ed, the woman that started helping me at first was rude, had me WAITING for over 40 minutes, AND we got there 10 minutes early, while she did other stuff in the back, when I asked her to pull out my dress 5 minutes later she CLOSED the zipper on me to leave the dress alone. Then when I had the dress on, she asks me if the waist is okay. Then later on had the nerve to tell me well I asked you before and you said that it was okay on the waist because I started complaining that it didn't feel right at the waist. Here is my answer: No I never said it was okay. I said I CAN'T TELL!! How could I have known if I was okay in the waist when half of my dress was on the pedestal and I am standing on the floor squished between the mirror, you and the curtain! Needless to say, I wasn't happy there at all. And that really killed my mood. Plus I had all these pins all over me. From the sides, underneath for the waist area, the entire bustle, the front, the hemming was all jagged since they chopped some of it off..... honestly, I wasn't happy. I expected to be thrilled and I was far from that.
THEN to top it off, my alterations won't be done till 2/24. That is exactly about 10 days before my wedding. Then I go in for that fitting and if something needs to be fixed, then they will do it but I can't come in to try it back on because the beading has to be re-done and they have to press the dress. So apparently after they press the dress, I can't try it on. So when I finally put on the dress on 3/5 who knows what may happen. It may be right or it may be wrong and at that point there will be nothing I can do about it. So now I have something else to worry about..... And the last thing I wanted to think about is my dress.

I bought my dress in PA. The first fitting was great, because there wasn't much to tell.

The second one was horrible! It was all wrong and I had made a trip there for this last fitting and my MIL was going to pick it up after if was steamed and bring it to LI for me. So I was furious. I had to take off work 9 days before my wedding to drive down there with my Mom. We were there for 4 hours while they fitted and did the work, when they finished they pressed it there and I took it with me that day! Definitely extra stress that wasn't needed!

But the day of it was great, I loved it, and the pictures look great! It will work out in the end.

I am really sorry you are going through this. It is the last thing you need to worry about.

I was really worried about my fittings, because my dress was way to long. I ended up doing my fittings now because I was really worried.

I am really sorry. I suggest talking to the manager of the salon and requesting another seamstress to work with.

My dress is REALLY long too. That is why the second lady (nicer one) was chopping everything off. Then the other one jumps back in to help her out and made me feel worse. I hope my dress is alot better on the 24th. At that point I will lose it with these women if it isn'. I was calm the entire night though. That is a first for me.
