Of course you should tip, unless she did an awful job, or was unprofessional. JMO

Yes, it's just like any other service you get. Unless you were dissatisfied, they usually expect a tip.
Did you book them?

I agree. If you liked them and even booked them, then I would definitely give a tip. If it's not too far to drive back, I probably would go back with a tip and say that it completely slipped my mind.

Always tip. 15-20% is the appropriate amount.

well, when I had a makeup trial, the girl totally refused to take a tip. She does not work for anybody though, she keeps all the money.

You definitely should go back and tip. Tell her you loved the way your hair came out so much, it just slipped your mind. You left in amazement!

That's what my Mom said to do. She thought it wasn't a big deal, especially because I think she owned the salon. But I feel guilty so I'm going to go back tomorrow and tell her I loved the hair and I was so elated from finally booking my final vendor that it slipped my mind! It'll help me sleep better.

Re: Was I supposed to tip @ a hair trial?
Don't stress, I did the same thing. I sent her an email the next day, got her address and sent her a $20 check. I think she appreciated it!!
My sister disagreed with me however, and felt paying $75 for a hair trial in someone's house was enough already. I could see it both ways.
Like someone said before, better to be safe than sorry, you don't want to piss off your hair lady!
