Re: Was it worth it???

Maybe post this on '07 or BHB for girls who have had their weddings already? I'm not having any of the above....so to me it wouldn't be worth it. But I also didn't have a desire for any of them (we're having a band, not a dj, I don't want plasma screens, and I hate cigars haha)....

I've been to wedding with and without the percussionist - we thought it added a nice touch so we added it!

I'm not doing plasma screens, it wasn't that important to me.

None of them are 'necessary', maybe you can pick one of the three to splurge on?

Good luck!

percussionist is cool if you're having a DJ, adds a live music feel to it...

plasma wasn't worth it to me

none of our friends and families smoke cigars

FH begged for a percussionist...so we got it...I saw it at a showcase and it was SICK...so we will see how I feel after my wedding...but I am kind of glad we did it

its up to you what is worth it. Everyone is different so think about whats important to you. If its about budget then think about what to cut, honestly if i had to cut any of those things due to budget i would cut the cigar roller. I was thinking of getting it but its ok that we won't. Definitely is a nice touch and if its within your budget go for it. I think the percussionist adds to the entertainment if you have a dj. Plasmas are a nice touch but if its not within the budget dont worry about it. Out of everything on your list i like percussionist best

they put 2 plasmas by the dj...they put up pics from your ceremony and also the dj takes pics during the wedding and puts it up right away on the plasmas...and also used for photo montages

I say if you really like something and you both think that it's worth it then go with it and get it. I booked alot of things that people would be like what a waste but to me I had to have it. So go with what you feel. HTH.

it really depends on what's important to you.

the only one of those that we're doing is the plasma....and that's because we're having a huge reception, and we're getting live feed played on the screens (for all those people sitting a bit further away)

Agree with some of the other ladies, if your budget is that tight then don't do it. The photo thing I guess is nice but how many guests are going to sit there looking at the screen. Unless you were to do some special 'moment' kinda thing and have everyone watching. But IMO it's more stuff in the backgroud, and I agree with whoever said it taked up your dance floor space.
IMHO- cigars YUCK! I hate the smell of them, even after someone has somked one they stink!

also think of the time of day for the wedding is something to think about for the wedding. Since I was having it during the day, really was no point to the plasma!
