Instead of having a cigar roller, why not buy 50-75 good cigards, and have your groom hand them out to his buddies???

the percussionist i've never seen at a weddings so i cant give imput

the plasma, i personally dont like them at all....besides they take up extra space on the dance floor!!!!

good luck!!!

Ditto.
Guests notice the food, the flowers, the drinks, the service.

we are having the plasmas b/c they are basically free since we are friends with the DJ, otherwise we wouldnt have them. lol

i want the cigar roller but i think we are going to get cigars and hand them out.

fh wants the photo booth so since i saved $ from my dress budget i think we are going to get the photobooth

food and music are the most important things to me!!

I thought about doing the cigar roller as a surprise for FH, because he recently began to enjoy them. I mentioned it to him and he did not seem interested. I don't think the percussionist and plasmas are needed.

We didn't have any of the things you listed, and I don't think they were missed.

I'm having the plasma screen -- having a photo montage is the one thing that is sooo important to me -- both FH and I have lost a parent, and we do want to have a montage with pictures of them included.
I am not doing the zap shots though, the screens are strictly for the montage.
I don't think a cigar roller is at all necessary, and it actually may bother some people, while others may love it.
The percussionist sounds cool, and would prob be fun, but totally not necessary.
FH wants a singer during cocktail hour, I say its not necessary. NOt sure who will win that battle!

I want to have a singer for the cocktail hour. Ed Travers is a friend of my dad's. He does Jimmy Buffet songs.

out of all of them i'd go with the cigar roller...it's something unique u dont always see...go for it!

we are having the plasma screens- only bc we got a great deal from our dj and they're included.

we are also having the cigar roller, but my dad has offered to pay for that, bc he loves them too.

No percussionist and IMO- I don't like them.

But, I do think all of these items are add-ons and just depend on what you like. People def won't miss them if they're not there. If you can save on them and aren't going to be personally dissapointed- don't have them. no one will notice.

well, i think all of those things are great extras, but certainly not a necessity...i like someone elses idea about buying good cigars and handing them out...our friends did that at their wedding and it worked...

i really think out of all of those, the percussionist is needed the most.... it just adds sooo much more to the music! Cigar roller would be a nice addition but if you dont have the dough, thats okay.. and plasma's could be done without completely IMO

I didn't use any of those and I still think my wedding was amazing. I am not a fan of the plasma screens because then people tend to focus just on them, rather than the scene around them.

Percussionists are cool, but not necessary for a great party. Same with cigar rollers.

Guests will notice flowers & food before they notice tvs and cigars.

Good luck!

I had the plasmas and everyone loved it!!

As far as the cigars, I don't you can do without! Besides- do you want all the men outside smoking them or inside enjoying the party???

GOOD LUCK!!

Re: Was it worth it??

went to a wedding this summer and they had a cigar roller. All of a sudden, you look around and all the men - half the wedding - was outside smoking. It was serioulsy 50+ guys out there - some just went to watch even if they weren't smoking. They spent almost an hour doing it.

If this is ok with you great, but I thought to myself, wow, I don't want that many people to miss so much of my wedding. JMO

Re: Was it worth it??

You can definately do without any of those that you listed..Personally I dont like plasmas ,,percusionist I never really heard or seen at a wedding,, and cigar roller thats just an extra if you wanted and can play around with money a lil.. but definately not something that guests are going to be looking for...I am having one as a surprise to my fiance because I feel everything is about me,, so I wanted to do something for him,, I decided to have it at the cocktail hr so that ppl are not being forced to leave the dance floor which is where I want them...HOpe this helps and good luck with all.

Re: Was it worth it??

I saw on tv a wedding with a cigar roller and it was neat. It is a big expense though and not everyone enjoys them. Also, they need to be smoked outdoors. Some people willl hate the smell, I do. I got the plasma for free with dj and a great deal for the percussuonist. these are all extras that i think will make an impact, just not a large one. We are trying to do things different because 2 of the 4 brothers were married last year. We want the family to notice ours is different.
