Were you expecting a proposal or did it come out of the blue?
The first time he asked me it was- we were only dating 8 months!! Of course, it wasn't a 'real proposal'. I picked out my ring, he asked my parents, and 4 months later he officially asked me. I knew it was coming..just not sure when.

It started off as a surprise but then FH and my mom started acting realllllly suspicious. Appearantly I was getting in the way of him asking for my hand in marriage and he had to do it on the actual day that he popped the question. But my parents made it sooo obvious by leaving the house for a long time (i guess my dad had to give FH 'the talk'). lol. I kept getting thrown off though because FH was cool, calm, and collected the whole time (he says he was a nervous wreck). Either way, it was a special moment when it happend.

I knew it was coming, but I didn't know when... his first attempt was botched, he was setting up our apt with rose petals and candles and stuff when I called him from work (I work til midnight) and told him that my cousin had just proposed to his girlfriend, the same exact way... so I came home and found clues all over the place and then after the real proposal he confessed. The real proposal was about 10 days later, I totally did not expect it, in fact I was in an awful mood and was like, evil to him because I didn't want to go out, I was tired and cranky, but obviously all that changed once he proposed and he had the greatest night planned and while I thought it was coming soon I definitely didn't expect it that night.

i def knew it was coming. we planned a trip to vegas to see his uncle get married there, then he told me he made special dinner plans for us one night we were there... so i had a thought maybe that was going to be where he was going to propose. but then before the dinner he asked to go on a gondola ride so i knew that was gonna be it! plus i saw the ring box bulging out of his pocket HAHA

a month after FH's dad passed away we had my friends e-party & while there FH said something about how he was so upset that his dad was going to miss all wedding stuff. then he kind of hinted at us getting engaged. i just figured he was drunk & didn't know what he was saying since he never mentioned anything about it again. however he did kind of give it away because for our anniversary this past year he didn't ask me to pick out things that i would like as a gift (like he had done for every occassions the prior 7 years) so that was a little strange. then when doing laundry one day i found a receipt envelope from tiffanys in his jeans but it was empty & i thought that was very strange. then he propsed two days later. so i would say all in all i was shocked!!! & so was everyone that we know since the only person who know was his mom.

we had talked about getting engaged for a while but i had no idea when it was coming...He had bought the ring and was holding on to it for about 8 months before he finally asked me... I was surprised the way he did, 5:00am after a night of hanging out with friends, drinking, in bed...It was a very 'him' proposal, he got upset though that i didnt have the typical reaction of crying etc...what does he want??!! It was early and I was still half asleep!!!

he asked me without a ring july 5th!! and then later that day went ring shopping i didnt know when he was going to officially ask but he did and i was def suprised

I kinda knew it was coming. A few months before we went looking at rings and I knew he was working on designing mine. I got engaged 2 days after valentines day so I didnt think it would happen then since I got a V day gift lol Im glad it happened the way it did

We talked about it but I didn't think that he was going to do it during the summer because I was studying for the bar exam. He totally surprised me with a romantic anniversary picnic and walk on the beach at sunset!

I HAD NO CLUE!! WE TALKED ABOUT IT HE KNEW WHAT KIND OF SETTING I WANTED ETC BUT HE KEPT SAYING NEXT YEAR!! HE HAD HIS FRIEND CALL HIM WHEN I WAS AROUND TO ASK IF WE WANTED HIS RESERVATIONS AT THE RAINBOW ROOM BECUASE HE HAD TO CANCEL WITH HIS DATE. I WAS MAD ACTAULLY AND DID NOT WANT TO GO TO AN EXPENSIVE RESTAURANT BECAUSE WE WERE LEAVING FOR VEGAS IN A WEEK AND HAD SO MANY RESERVATIONS IN NICE RESTAURANTS ALREADY!!! HE HAD TO PLAN IT THAT WAY BECAUSE I AM NOSEY AND I WOULD HAVE KNOW OTHER WISE WHAT HE WAS PLANNING. SO WE GET TO THE RAINBOW ROOM AND THE RESERVATIONS WERE UNDER HIS FRIENDS NAME!! HE TOLD THEM WHAT HE WAS PLANNING SO WE HAD A WONDERFUL TABLE DIRECTLY INFRONT OF THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING. AFTER DINNER HE GOT DOWN ON ONE KNEE AND ASKED ME TO MARRY HIM I WAS IN SHOCK YOU HAVE NO CLUE!!

I was very. We were just having a regular day. We had gone to buy some CD's and out of nowhere he suggested we go to the light house at Fire Island since I said I had never been there. So he drove us out there and while we were walking on the beach at sunset he just asked me to marry him out of nowhere. I thought he was joking until he stopped walking and got down on his knee & pulled out the box....
Another reason I want to book CLM, you can see the Fire Island light house from the room we would have.
